While I hope no soldiers get injured in the future, I am glad our country/president, took a stand against this dictator. If we don't stand up to those who oppress, who will?

It's sad that all of our country's leaders don't agree and say, congress didn't vote for this as an excuse to allow the evil to continue. If we waited for that, it would never happen and our country, as well as theirs, just dives further into decay. The democrats and their beliefs house and protect the evil in this country/world.

According to EIA, they're #1 in the world with proven oil reserves, but they're #18 in the world in actual production. Their production is down 61% since they nationalized the US oil company's oil fields.

As of Christmas, the SPR had 412,000,000 barrels in it and it's capacity is 714,000,000 barrels. We could fill the SPR in 275 days if we diverted 100% of Venezuela's production.

A CBS news feed shows them getting off an unmarked jet at Stweart Air National Guard Base in upstate NY. Should have flown him in a rickety old C-123.

"This is absolutely insane:

Venezuela currently has 303 billion barrels of crude oil reserves, which Trump says the US now controls.

Oil prices are trading at ~$57/barrel, making Venezuela's total reserves worth $17.3 TRILLION.
Their crude oil is primarily in the Orinoco Belt, and it's a heavy crude which means 2 things:
  • It's very difficult to produce. When Chavez demanded 60% ownership of the oilfields, ExxonMobil and Conoco said "see you in court" and were smart enough to have made 1990s contracts with Venezuela having 1st world collateral so they could walk away and fight in World Court. Production in the seized assets has fallen off by 61% without the US major's know how.
  • Their crude oil is both heavy (good mental picture is closer to tar) and full of sulfur so it sells at a discount compared to a Brent or WTI so the Twitter author made a mistake grabbing the latest NYMEX quote for their calculation. Merey is one of their crudes and it was trading at a $21 discount compared to Brent in Dec '25. It'll be interesting to see the impact of the sanctions on the prices of Merey as they've been around as far back as '05 so I can't remember what the price was like without sanctions.

  • Thanks for posting your insight into this situation, tt!

Mexico and much of South America are owned and controlled by drug cartels. They pay the politicians, police, and military to let them act with impunity. And anyone that challenges them is killed.

The only way to fix this is military action against the cartels. Cruise missiles and drone strikes can take out all the cartel heads quickly, much like the baptism scene in the Godfather. Same for the processing facilities. I'm sure we know where they are. Overnight, the heads of state that were controlled by the cartels will support the actions and thank the US for freeing them. Until then they have to kowtow and talk about soverignty and resisting US aggression.

The leftists are going NUTS over this.
Saying it was unconstitutional! And congress had to be consulted first!

    Well:

Here’s a list of U.S. presidents who have authorized airstrikes or military actions without specific Congressional approval, organized by president and notable incidents. These actions were generally justified under the president’s constitutional authority as Commander in Chief or under previous authorizations such as the 2001 or 2002 AUMF (Authorization for Use of Military Force), but they did not involve new congressional votes beforehand:

    Harry S. Truman
    • Korea (1950) – Deployed U.S. forces and authorized airstrikes in Korea without formal Congressional declaration of war.

    Dwight D. Eisenhower
    • Lebanon (1958) – Ordered U.S. air and naval forces into Lebanon to stabilize a political crisis.

    John F. Kennedy
    • Cuba (1961–1962) – Bay of Pigs (though indirectly supported), and later the Cuban Missile Crisis military posture.

    Lyndon B. Johnson
    • Vietnam (1964) – Gulf of Tonkin airstrikes occurred before the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution was passed.

    Richard Nixon
    • Cambodia & Laos (1969–1973) – Conducted secret and unauthorized bombing campaigns as part of Vietnam War.

    Jimmy Carter
    • Iran (1980) – Operation Eagle Claw failed attempt to free hostages

    Ronald Reagan
    • Libya (1986) – Bombed Tripoli and Benghazi in retaliation for the Berlin discotheque bombing.
    • Grenada (1983) – Invasion and airstrikes without prior congressional approval.

    George H. W. Bush
    • Panama (1989) – Invasion and airstrikes to oust Manuel Noriega.
    • Iraq (1990–1991) – Airstrikes began before Congress passed a resolution approving Desert Storm.

    Bill Clinton
    • Bosnia (1995) – NATO airstrikes in Bosnia without Congressional approval.
    • Iraq (1998) – Operation Desert Fox airstrikes against Saddam Hussein.
    • Kosovo (1999) – 78-day NATO bombing campaign without Congressional approval.

    George W. Bush
    • Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia (2001–2009) – Authorized drone strikes relying on the 2001 AUMF but without specific country-by-country authorization.

    Barack Obama
    • Libya (2011) – Air campaign as part of NATO action to topple Gaddafi, without Congressional approval.
    • Syria, Iraq, Somalia, Yemen (2014–2016) – Airstrikes against ISIS and other terror groups under 2001 AUMF, no new authorization sought.

    Donald Trump
    • Syria (2017, 2018) – Airstrikes against Assad regime over chemical weapons, without Congressional approval.
    • Iraq (2020) – Ordered airstrike that killed Iranian General Qassem Soleimani.

    Joe Biden
    • Syria (2021, 2022) – Airstrikes on Iranian-backed militia groups.
    • Somalia & Yemen (ongoing) – Continued air campaigns under prior AUMFs.

    Summary:
Every U.S. president from Truman to Biden has authorized military airstrikes or operations without direct and new Congressional approval at some point during their presidency.

The leftists say the constitution isn't relevant. That the 2A is archaic. And here they hold that the constitution has bearing. So, the US constitution provides more protection for foreign criminals than it does for natural US citizens? Hmmm..... Something seems wrong.

I don't think the left will spend too much time pretending Trump didn't have the power to snatch Maduro. That's just the immediate reaction of these folks based on their literal hatred of POTUS. Even the Washington Post has an editorial out proclaiming the 'Justice in Venezuela'. Maduro was given the opportunity to avoid prison but was too stupid and greedy to take the deal.

How long before some leftist federal judge issues an order demanding the release of Maduro as he was unlawfully arrested and seized?

Trump to such a judge: FAFO for yourself.

Not 25th Amendment Time: President presides over the most humiliating rout in 50 years, and the deaths of 13 Americans, and then kills multiple other people who had nothing to do with it.

25th Amendment Time: Amazing mission decapitates communist dictatorship in four hours without a single American loss.

Is it any wonder that even the garbage regime media wants nothing to do with
