As a Canadian, it goes without saying that I don’t have nearly enough - too expensive here.

A thousand 9mm rounds, a couple of hundred deer/moose rounds, and that’s basically it.

Canada sucks.

At my current rate of shooting, enough for a lifetime. I hope to get back into it again. It's been a weird and trying few years.

For SD, I have more rounds than I'll probably use in Red Dawn or zombie apocalypse scenarios.

Still I will likely load up more over the next four years.

And I still have several thousand small pistol primers which are now older than my oldest child.

I shot about 40k rounds of pistol and another 3-4k of rifle last year. Based on that metric, I have enough 9mm to make it to maybe May and a year's worth of 5.56. even though ammo is available and relatively inexpensive, I am still trying to buy more than I shoot so as not to repeat the mistakes of 2019, when I don't think I bought any ammo, and was shooting less than 20% of what I do now, and watched a stockpile of 20k rounds go to near zero in 2020.

Hmmm… now that radical Demowits have called for war, perhaps not enough. Ample ammo for local and too old and disabled to travel so OK I think.

We're about to hit another Trump Slump, so buy it cheap and stack it deep!

I just bought another 1000 from GA Arms with a 15% coupon and free shipping. Their 5.56 is modified to run in .223 Colt rifles of yesteryear.

This thread reminds me of rburg, anyone seen him around lately? He always was a proponent of no such thing as too much ammo.

Every time this thread floats to the top, for some strange reason a very heavy box shows up on my front porch a few days later!

The LGS a mile down the road from me had gen2 PMags for $7.14 last week, so I grabbed a couple more.

I hope we have good times and good pricing for the next several years, but we never know for sure. The lesson has sunk in that it's a good idea to have some supplies socked away.

PSA just had Winchester white box for $11 per 50. I may or may not have picked up another 1,000 rounds....

A couple more hundred rounds of 9mm and 5.56 than about a year and a half ago. Prices are dropping, and it's in stock much more readily. Hard to find good .44 Special (except on-line) but stumbled upon a bit of a stash at the last show I attended and came back with about 300 rounds of it.

I thought I was fairly well fixed up, but after reading these stories 2 weeks ago of previously deported Mexicans (likely cartels) and their gigantic ammo stashes, I felt undergunned and ordered another case. Mexican cartels are gearing up to go to war. All of this ammo may have been headed to Mexico, but a bit concerning.

Mexicans arrested in Colorado with 180,000 rounds. This is over 8,000 pounds of ammunition in one truck!


Two Mexican nationals in the U.S. on nonimmigrant visas were arrested during a traffic stop in Colorado last month while transporting 180,000 rounds of ammunition, authorities said Wednesday. Caesar Ramon Martinez Solis, 41, and Humberto Ivan Amador Gavira, 24, both of Mexico, were pulled over in Canon City on March 26, the U.S. Attorney’s Office – District of Colorado said in a news release. Two Fremont County detectives had spotted a white Chevrolet van passing them without dimming its headlights, in violation of state law, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by the Canon City Daily Record. The detectives said the van also failed to signal when turning into a gas station and had a defective license plate lamp. During the traffic stop, the detectives discovered approximately 150 boxes of .308 ammunition and approximately 30 boxes of 7.62 ammunition, officials said. Each box was labeled as containing 1,000 rounds...

A couple of days later arrested in Wyoming with 18,000 rounds.

A twice-deported Mexican immigrant with suspected cartel-ties accused of smuggling 18,000 rounds of ammunition through Wyoming skipped federal court Friday. A judge issued a warrant for his arrest...
