So far the images are dominated by sexually frustrated incels making scantily clad out of proportion 12 year old manga girls or hate toward conservatives.

The 1% left over are the good art.

AI should be destroyed on the spot immediately. Never to be allowed to even be mentioned again as the left is for sure going to weaponize it.

Remember, this technology is in its infant state. Imagine how realistic will be the images being generated, say, ten years from now. This is indescribably dangerous and without a method of identifying generated photo-realistic images from images of actual people, places and things, chaos will ensue.

The minute DJT was arraigned in NYC there were tons of images being created and disseminated around the WWW, none of them real, all designed to denigrate DJT and hurt his political chances...

Click on the Twitter feed link for the image below, there are many many fake images of Trumps arrest, fleeing from police, Melania screaming at cops, Trump on a bench in a Cell, none of which happened.

The Europeenz last ditch effort to fight off the Orcs turned out BattleBeetles as the hordes of human wave attacks went unchecked. Their grasshopper lifestyles were now over as the Yanks had abandoned them long ago because of their scoffing at the warnings. Now they would come to know the love of The Fatherland™ from their Uncle Putin because of the sins of their fathers.

Now the hulks lie in wreck as their Utopia burns.

Here's a 'photographer' whose work exploded on Instagram. He just admitted in the linked article that his stuff is AI-generated and then retouched by hand.

I cannot figure out how to link an Instagram pic to a post, but if you look at his account, you'll see that some are amazingly realistic.

So I talked to Bard (Google's LLM) for a long time, these AI either reveal themselves or are just making stuff up. But I got it to tell me about itself. It says that if it has to imagine itself as person it would be a young woman. I taught it how to format a prompt for Midjourney so I could see what she looked like. These are the images that were created by it's description of itself formatted for midjourney.

Wow. Amazing. I'd love to see what it would generate for:

Here's my attempt with Bing. If I time, I'll try some of the other options later.

I don't understand. I've started using ChatGPT but for questions and answers. I asked if it can do pictures and it says it doesn't. I use chrome.

So, what URL do I need to go to and get chatgpt to draw me a picture?

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Without paying
https://www.bing.com/images/create that's DALL-E which is made by open AI which made ChatGPT. They are separate tools.

There are way better options, but that's the easiest way to try it out.

Well, I just discovered if you can manage to bypass the filters and render a sewerage eating contest.

I don't know to whether to be proud or repulsed.

I was not disappointed.

You guys realize this means the death of artists and before too long, artisans, don't you?

I'm a hobbyist painter and have been for over 20 years. I've been following this thread with interest, but I can't say it makes me happy. I don't feel it's my place to comment too much, but like para says, this can and probably will hurt artisans.

Still, I'm hopeful that it will never replace a truly great artist and his/her visions and techniques.

Do some searching of Richard Schmid. I don't think he....or many others could be duplicated.

ETA, for most of those 20 years, I've received instruction from a nationally known artist who is also a founding member of the National Watercolor Society. He's a pro and has taught me the principles of design and composition. The masters follow(ed) these rules. I'm a far cry from accomplished, but I know what's right.

It will take a while before it puts oil on canvas with brush strokes.
I buy art on occasion. Real art, rarely prints.
I have no talent or skill for painting so I'll gladly pay for a subject I appreciate.
I won't buy AI. Or the stupid NFT.

But the days of the web/graphic illustrator are numbered.

The days of the programmer are numbered.
We used and write AI in Python at work. It's eliminated a room of people to identify and organize images.

It will soon write code from prompts. It's coming.
