We are going to do a trial eval of SalesForce. I'm on the team to evaluate the sales user side and also integration with Outlook and our phone system.

I don't have to get too deep in the weeds technically as we are hiring another IT guy for the implementation side.

Looking for a good book on how to use the features and get spun up as quickly as possible.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Mark

No suggestions on books but I’ve used Salesforce for almost 10 years now at it’s the best tool out there.

I don’t use it on the sales side of things but rather on the implementation/integration side.

Trailhead is a good source for tutorials, and you can learn functionality. it depends on how deeply you wish to dive. Even if you do not do the trails yourself, just reading through some topics and scenarios may give you some understanding of where you can go.

Yes, but finding one that doesn't make me want to commit suicide in 4 minutes is a little harder to do when just looking at the "greatest" book on anything technical.

So, I ask the collective...

Honestly, a lot of it will depend on your company's configuration and sales processes. From a user perspective, if your company is going to use the new lightning experience view, it's actually pretty easy. Think other class leading cloud based platforms: Workday, Amazon etc...

LOVE SalesForce. I am going on 6 years and I mainly use it for orders. We have it linked to our quoting system so I can easily covert a quote to an order with just a few clicks. We also use it for tracking the order status and contact management. I am in sales but my inside people utilize it for all kinds of thins. Lots of integration opportunities.

I have nothing to add to the above comments, but see if you can score one of their logo-branded Ember coffee mugs. They're awesome!
