We have an older camper/horse trailer that we have fully rehabbed, including new brakes and all LED lights. Suddenly the truck doesn't recognize the trailer and the electric brakes don't work. Turns out that there isn't enough resistance for the truck to know that there is a trailer back there. Had to replace two of the LED lights with incandescent fixtures. Now the truck sees the trailer and the brakes work. Computers are stupid. "I vowed to myself to fight against evil more completely and more wholeheartedly than I ever did before. . . . Interesting. What year and make truck? My 2015 F350 has no issue with LEDs and electric trailer brakes. I do have to manually switch the builtin electric brake controller from electric to electric over hydraulic or vice versa depending on which of my trailers I’m towing. | |||
