Common sense is genius dressed in its working clothes |
Don't give him a lot of chance to make it to the show. Maybe though. He is a hell of an athlete. However, anyone that can throw an 80 yard pass to beat the Steelers and knock them out of the playoffs is okay in my book. Some credit to Thomas on that one, no doubt. That Tebow dude kept it interesting that year for sure. _______________________ “There is more stupidity than hydrogen in the universe, and it has a longer shelf life.” ― Frank Zappa

I've worked in professional and minor league baseball for 15 years. You'd be surprised at the amount of players in the league because of who they are, with no real talent. Tim Tebow is not one of them. I've watched infield coordinators try to teach 22 year old kids with famous last names how to throw a baseball. Undoubtedly a skill they should already posses, but they were promised a shot...and a valuable spot in an organization.

He's not a pussy and he has a knack for coming up big in the clutch. I especially like the way he doesn't apologize for being a Chrisitian. There's no doubt where Tebow stands. I'm a fan. ________________________ God spelled backwards is dog

^^^This. Single A is developmental in nature, and although there are obviously exceptions, few players evolve from it to the bigs. Triple A is what we used to call major league team inventory. When a team suffers injuries, this is usually where they go to fill the roster slot. ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom. Well after 2 weeks in single A baseball Tebow still leads the team in home runs with 2, but has a .156 http://www.milb.com/milb/stats...5&stn=true&sid=t3705 batting average. I remember John Kruk's (kind of a portly player for Philadelphia, but good hitter) quote "I am not an athlete, I am a baseball player!" Hitting a baseball is harder than it looks. I wish him well but it does not look like the majors are going to come calling anytime soon. I have a few SIGs.

He nor the Mets had any expectations of that happening. Conversely, Jose Reyes is batting .093 for the Mets, so you never know. _____________________________________________________ Sliced bread, the greatest thing since the 1911.

Tebow's team plays our local team this week, and it's sold out or nearly so every game. Even if he doesn't make the big leagues, he's good for revenue at this level. Here's to the sunny slopes of long ago.

I've been to quite a few BlueClaws games (Lakewood is practically right next door to where my sister lives). It was always a lot of fun. I imagine Tim Tebow's presence will make for a good time at the stadium with a crowd like that. ~Alan Acta Non Verba NRA Life Member (Patron) God, Family, Guns, Country Men will fight and die to protect women... because women protect everything else. ~Andrew Klavan

I like him and I think it is great. Stuff like this shows America likes Tim and if his team traveled across the country, they would find the same interest in fans attending. I usually click on a Tim Tebow news/sports story. The left hates him, the arm chair quarterbacks sit bitterly behind their computers and tell us he couldn't throw a football and now that he can't hit a baseball. All the while Tim is enjoying himself and is a great role model. Donald Trump is not a politician, he is a leader, politicians are a dime a dozen, leaders are priceless.

That is pretty awesome to have first minor league at bat be a homer, and your first at bat after being promoted a division to be a homer too. They will keep moving him up through farm system to get attendance and merchandise sold. He will never make it past AAA. Lucky if he makes it past double A. It's all for ticket/merch sales. Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis

How much money does a AAA-A player make? Is it peanuts until they go major? Or do they make a lot? Knowing what one is talking about is widely admired but not strictly required here. [700UOTE]Originally posted by chongosuerte: How much money does a AAA-A player make? Is it peanuts until they go major? Or do they make a lot?[/QUOTE] I am not even sure a single A player can buy peanuts. A - $1,200 a month AA - $1,700 a month AAA - $2,100 a month Make it to the major leagues and jump to minimum annual salary of $535,000 a year! Most of the guys in the minors got a pretty big signing bonus. 1st round picks can be in the $4 Million dollar range. If I was an 18 year old that would be a fairly easy decison to skip college and go spend up to 5 years in the minors and try to make a major league roster. Even the 10th round draft picks get a $100,000 signing bonus. I have a few SIGs.
