LeemurBecause there will always be winners.
Funny how heads explode when you advocate equality of opportunity not outcome. Preach on Arc.

Something 16 years of conflict has shown to be true!

Ummmm.... I'm thinking about wars in the area going back centuries. Even just in the 19th and 20th centuries there has been so much blood spilled in that area it's ridiculous.

Elk HunterI retired from IBM quite a while ago. Right after the board of directors installed a bean counter as CEO. Not to mention they changed his performance plan.
He was the first one who got a bonus for stock prices. They went up a certain amount, bonus.
He focused, entirely, on the "profits" to the point that he completely killed the R&D budget and claimed that money as profit. BOD awarded him 2.5 megabucks for having driven the share price up by his manipulations.
Not long after IBM lost money for the first time since its inception. Did he care? Of course not, he had his megabucks.
IBM never recovered. Which is understandable when you consider that IBM was the leader in technology development and production. Without that R&D money, no development.
