Make America Great Again |
Very tough call for me... I would tend to favor my Ruger AR-556 the most right now, but ask me again tomorrow and I’ll be tied between my two favorite .22 rimfires! Those two, in no particular order, are my Winchester 9422XTR lever-action vs. my Romanian M69 bolt-action military training rifle! I seriously love both, despite their being from opposite ends of the spectrum in quality! That little Romanian rifle may be rough and cheap, but it’s also amazingly accurate. Not sure if it’ll outshoot the Winchester or not as I refuse to put a scope on that rifle; I enjoy shooting it with irons and don’t want everything I own scoped! Then again, there is a scoped 10/22 in the safe that I did my own trigger job on, and it turned out amazing! Best trigger in the house... next to my stock MK-II Target model... Decisions, decisions... ask me again tomorrow and I may answer completely differently! _____________________________ Bill R. North Alabama

The cake is a lie! |
I have a pretty boring collection so out of what I own, probably my Ruger 10/22 target tactical with a Nikon 4-9. My Ruger Alaskan .454 Casull is also fun to take out every now and then.

Thinking about it, YES the M-60 was a fun gun to shoot. But it SUCKED when you had to hump the damn thing! That's probably why I didn't put it on my list, the fun of shooting was overshadowed by the PITA of carrying the damn thing! ______________________________________________________________________ "When its time to shoot, shoot. Avoiding slam fires |
I have shot from the maw duce down to many light machine guns. my all time favorite gun is the 629 S/W at a hundred yards at clay birds on the berm. Older now and I shoot like crap to be honest.

Funny, did not even think about that. You are right though, when my dad came home with my Crossman M1, damn that was a great day! Still have that gun and still shoot it.

Most fun ever - belt fed weapons - M60. I’ve got a lot of trigger time on them. Very fun to shoot. Not so much fun to clean. Not in the Army - a buddy’s MP5A2 - full auto. Just a great weapon. Honorable mention - Thompson 45 full auto with both stick and drum mags.

Who Woulda Ever Thought? |
A cur dog 1911. Cierner made Kimber 22 conversion on an AMT frame. The frame had the hammer, sear and trigger replaced and I had to hand fit the slide to the frame rails. Shoots like a dream. I used to have a #1H Ruger in 45/70 that was fun to shoot with fairly hot reloads. You only had to fire it once at something. Hey, 6000 posts!

Bunch of savages in this town |
Non-military, would be my son’s Ruger MKIII 22/45. I was his 13th birthday gift, and it gets trigger time every shooting session. Accurate as hell, cheap to shoot, and very fun. I installed a hammer bushing to make takedown easier, as was an insert to remove the LCI indicator. Such a fun little pistol. His Ruger Mini-14 is a blast to shoot as well. ----------------- I apologize now...
