Free Palestine Rally in TX
I couldn’t believe it. Around 4:30pm I’m running errands trying to get home before the rush hour got worse. I’m on the service road of George Bush Tollway and spot hundreds of people with signs that say Free Palestine, others that said end Israel Apartheid or something. A bunch of women with the sheet thing around their heads. Fist pumping, yelling. The signs were professionally made. Not the kind they could make themselves with magic markers. Professional signs. I came home and google fu’d and found this:
https://www.codepink.org/dallasaction

In Texas? 4 or 5 years ago you just wouldn’t see this sort of thing. There were two local LE squad cars. Burbos. And hundreds of these people with their signs. Strategic as they did this so they’d be highly visible to the people driving on the Tollway. I had to run an errand over there and turned off the service road and almost hit a lady who was walking slow as a snail in the middle of a busy 2 lane street. Obviously she was trying to get to the “rally”. No care or concern about walking in the middle of a busy street. I mean this whole thing was a clown show. I’m still in shock. Texas has so many H1B visas, and immigrants that it’s hard to explain. You don’t believe it on one hand. I mean you see this on the news in California or something, not in your backyard. On the other hand, you do believe it because millions have flooded in here. I’m not Jewish, I’m Catholic. But Jesus was a Jew and this Jewish hate..I don’t have the words. Sickening, dreadful, I can’t think of a word that covers my personal disgust for this trash on the side of a highway pulling this, especially during rush hour traffic on a Friday. The only time, that I can recall, seeing something like this was in Maui. I was there, visiting my friends, during the last election. Anti Trump signs, etc. You’d expect it there, not in Texas. I’m in shock but have seen the forest for the trees for years, already bought land out of state, and want out of here immediately but it will take me years to fund my building and move. I’m sick to my stomach.

Sounds like a few thousand patriots need to get together and go there and lay on the horns nonstop. Or a bunch of diesel pickup trucks rolling coal and smoke the traitors out. I really HATE these vermin. With a passion.

Paid protesters, maybe? That’s always been my suspicion when I see those.

They are not. I live in a two-college town in Texas. All the young people identify with Palestinians as “the oppressed.” Many big gatherings on our town square in support of Palestine. Since Israelis are white they must be the oppressors, dont you know?

This is interesting... I just posted about a visit to Dallas - Ft Worth. I didn't get that vibe at all even walking around TCU. I'm with the paid protester theory.

One fact: there are leftist people in Texas that are NOT from CA or other commie states. The most leftist people I know are born and bred Texans, 3rd gen, wishing for the Ann Richards days .And that Code Pink and other commie orgs, working with Soros entities, imports people from other states for these type of things. That is also fact.

Florida, Utah, South Dakota, etc. have commies as residents. Texas is the 2nd largest state in the country, and to expect it to be 80%, 90%, 100% conservative is a pipe dream at best. What I look at are how state govt deals with issues, and so far Republicans Abbott, Patrick, Paxton, and others are doing a good job in regards to most conservative issues, and all elected with comfortable margins.

Texas is still God's Country.

I can’t help but wonder where they get their signs made (Kinkos?) and who pays for them. The protest obviously isn’t spontaneous.

Yes, I'm well aware of the facts. And, it changes nothing what I said. Wink

Sorry the way my post came out, more of a response to the OP. I agree with the entirety of your post Smile

This cannot be repeated enough.

Lefties = commies = progressives. They are all the same

This is just down the road from us, we live off George Bush a little east of 75. There’s a mosque on Campbell road between us and GB. Our subdivision is quite diverse, not incredibly politically active but I’ve seen one BLM flag and a house on the corner had “free Palestine” written on the back window of a car parked out front not too long ago.

I live in a suburb North of Richardson (where prefontaine saw the protest today). I am less thana half mile from another Raytheon. I drive by it a few times a day.

Some in my neighborhood work there.

I have seen no protests so for but will keep my head on a swivel.

There was a small pro Palestine demonstration here in downtown MQT a week or ago.
Who were the main participants? Why, college students, of course.
Lots of these idiots want to support the Palestinians, but none of them actually go to Gaza to lend a hand. Amazing, isnt it? Roll Eyes

I saw some of this downtown and the overpass from 30 to 45 the other evening but there was maybe 10 or 12 total in the group.

'Free Palestine'?

From what?

Oppression?

Gaza is independent, right?

They run their own affairs, or, at least, that's what we are told. They have their own system of government - it's a shitty and murderous system, for sure, but it's their very own.

I doubt many in that rally have H1B visas.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." There have been a couple of these around Birmingham AL in the last few months. Most of the "protesters" are out-of-towners, who come in and get free news coverage / publicity. There are some middle-easterners in the Birmingham metro area (mainly Israelis and Lebanese, and a smattering of others), but they are usually quiet. One thing I noticed in both recent events, the "rallies" were sponsored by the Democratic Socialists. If you know history, you know who else were Democratic Socialists.

This game plan is similar to what often occurred, and still does, in historic Civil Rights areas, i.e., Selma. In those cases, out-of-towners come in, try to open up old racism wounds, stir everyone up, and then leave.

“Free Palestine” is a euphemism. It’s like saying, ‘Free the third reich’. It’s nothing more than a call for genocide issued by the evil and the ignorant.
