Before we look to the 2022 elections to save us, remember who the Republicans fielded against Obama. McCain and Romney.

We need to rid the country of Democratic politicians and when we accomplish that, rid the country of RINO's like Mitch McConnell and his kind.

I am seeing things change personally and reflect on the broader reaching implications my changes may imply.

I used to be a person who felt disenfranchised by the system and so I ignored it. I lived my life in pursuit of keeping my stuff straight and keeping my opinions largely to myself.

Now I still keep my stuff as straight as I can but I am far more vocal and likely to engage in lobbying for causes I believe strongly in.

I think that if I, a member of the "Silent Majority" am becoming more active and engaged...maybe a greater movement is afoot.

The nonstop parade of the outrageous, insulting, infuriating and criminal is tedious but it's not boring so there is that.

rsbolo: Good for you! That's a good approach to this. For far too long, good people like you and many others have felt likewise and tried to ignore it. We just wanted to be left alone to live our lives.

The problem is: If you ignore the leftist, they will only take more. They will take and take and take from you and me and every freedom loving person until they are stopped.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

A malaise has certainly fallen over this beautiful country. It brought me down quite a bit the past few years but much of that was my own fault.

There is still much to enjoy and be thankful for.

This is how I have resisted the feelings of anger and hopelessness. I try to ignore that which I cannot change and soak up some sun and wind therapy on one of the best machines ever made.

This pic has it all. A beautiful day, gorgeous bike and two icons of America, our flag and the ever delicious (and punishing) Taco Bell. Big Grin

Life is good.

It would be even more beautiful if that flag was at the top of the pole.

Sorry, not ragging on you, it's just a pet peeve of mine. I hate seeing flags like that, or those that are too tattered to be flown being flown.

For a time, I made it a point to go into the business and let them know, but I usually ended up talking to some flunky behind the counter who didn't know or care about it. I gave up.

I mean, if we get past the exact definition of intelligent and get to the gist of what I think you're getting at, then I say no. Not if you're completely head down. And I say that having lived with my head in the sand for the better part of a two decades (first Obama presidency). It's a reasonable defense mechanism if you must. But I can honestly say I was so poorly informed of current events that I couldn't converse for the most part on reasonably important topics. So I seek out news now, but not newsutainment. And not hype, and not just stuff for me to agree with.

I'm still not very intelligent though. Smile

Yes. There are intelligent dictators and socialists. Political persuasion is not measured by the standard tests for intelligence. You can use other measures to describe these folks such as uniformed or naive.

And since the whole election system was cleaned up in the last two years, and now we will have fair honest elections, I'm sure we'll be fine.

No worries. It bothered me too. I was tempted to crop it out (the top of the pole). Big Grin This Sheetz usually has their American flag flying properly on that pole. I’m not sure why they didn’t hoist it all the way up. Confused

I fought it for a long time but I'm definitely feeling it. We're two years into this isolation shitnario. I'm tired of not being able to go do things, see people, just enjoy life and have fun without the inevitable 'OMG COVID!!" having some impact on it.

The entire country is divided along every imaginable line, and IMHO, it was done methodically and on purpose.

People are sick of it. I'd say for the most part it's the normal majority that have had it with all of this. The minority of Karen's, millennials, lib-tards, and eco-nuts seem to revel in it as A) they ignore the rules they demand we all follow, and B) seem to enjoy having some success in twisting the country into a granny knot.

I'm personally tired of all of it, yet trapped in it just the same.
