The Ford dealer I bought my used Flex from put that on the car after I stated my intent to buy at the advertised price and then tried to add $400 for the "added feature" that I didn't request.

I told them thanks, but no thanks, I'm not interested. Well, they had already put it in the car so they just lined out the charge and it remains in place to this day.

Guess it wasn't all that expensive for them to source the part.

I believe that is from a scene in the current re-make of Ben-Hur. To be renamed Ben-Him or Ben—They/Them where all the gladiators drink Bud Light. Regardless, my guess is they are gladiator inspired.

I totally agree.
I would not want to be on trail for any damage done to somebody or something and have these presented to a jury!

I've seen those years before Covid came. These started appearing after the spinning hubcaps trend.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." I've seen something similar on semis, but just made out of rebar. Was told once that they were used in the winter to keep snow from building up in the wheel.
