For the past ten years my daughter and I have run the Groundhog Underground 10K inside the Sub-Tropolis, it's very cool.

If you get through Hattiesburg MS there's a good place called Keg & Barrel on Hardy St that's got great food and fare, college vibe environment (outdoor seating, people bring the dog, etc). Always go there when I'm in town. You should try it if you can!
