My little brother was quite baked and a pot dealer way before it became trendy. I was once dispatched to my parents residence to take a theft report. When I got there, my brother pointed out an empty 5 gallon plastic bucket sitting on the lawn near the drive way. He told me he saw the paperboy ride up on a bicycle, deliver the paper and as he pedaled away, grab a 5 foot tall pot plant out of the bucket, jerk it free and make good his escape.
After listening to the story of the brazen caper, I informed my brother that I would pursue the paperboy to the ends of the earth to recover his property. And after arresting the kid for theft, I would return and arrest him for cultivation.
My brother then told me he would much rather handle the matter personally.
Say what you want about pot use and legalization, but it seems clear to me that its use doesn't improve your intellect!

There are at least two threads to follow in this.

1. Manitou, Colorado has had a couple of bad years tourist wise. The cannabis tax money has made the place prosperous anyway. It is keeping the town alive. So taxing it is becoming ever more attractive to Politicians who love to spend other people's money and the natives are getting restless.

2. Jail populations. Large metro areas don't have the room for minor offenses. Cook County jail is closing wings. Some very violent repeat felons are getting "home monitoring" and low/no bail. I assume it's to keep expenses down.

The trickle of legalization might be slow during Don's years but the trend is unmistakable.

No perhaps you should be ashamed that the people you are pushing for reduced criminal punishment are engaging in criminal activity to begin with.

Doesn't matter if you are pro pot or not, the law is the law, and until its changed abide by the law and you won't go to jail or pay a fine.

Yeah so how about those DUI laws, racist because lots of the folks in jail that can't make bail and get out are not white so lets eliminate the law, whats next.

KWANZA. That right there says it ALL. No need to even read the article.

Just a matter of time.
The state wants their share of the money, just like with those evil lottery tickets and gambling (and last century, alcohol).
And the next day, the sun will still rise in the east.

Oh, right, I've seen that method, when they weigh the dirt and pots and plants and tools and even the house they were in and then claim it was "40 tons of Devil Weed", when it might have been 2lbs of sellable product in the end. Y'all have those fancy scales/methods.

OK, now, jack32586, under your breath, mutter "Damn hippies."

46and2, in an agitated manner, very loudly yell "NARC!!!" in jack32586's direction.

Then, I come in, in my quietly menacing manner:

"OK, guys, let's take it easy, please."

/scene

OK, let's try it.
