He wouldn't have my vote. If you listen to him outside of his talk show he's got a bit of a socialist streak within him. Watch him on shapiro's Sunday show from about a year ago.

The primaries will be a battle of the talk show hosts. My vote would be for Larry Elder. I believe Trump respects him, but he won't run. He has a great tag line though; "We have a country to save"

Really, why is that? Because I've never heard Tucker Carlson stating anything other than conservative values. I certainly don't think that qualifies him to be president, though.
Let me caveat this by saying that I've stopped watching Fox News altogether. So if Tucker has changed his approach lately, I wouldn't know it. My issue probably has more to do with the state of news media in general, Tucker is just the one that pushed me over the top. I'm tired of propaganda masquerading as news.
The only value for me in political commentary shows is to hear a free exchange of ideas, to have assumptions and thoughts challenged in the refinery of an intellectual exchange. What I see on Tucker's show is a railroading of one guest after another. Tucker has his talking points loaded into his gun and he just keep shooting until the time is up. There is no dialogue, no debate, no addressing the other person's points or even acknowledging that some of them might be valid. It's blind bashing, nothing more. To be fair, most commentators on both sides have the same M.O. They are playing to their audience, not having a debate. That's not news, that's pandering to a ratings base.
Everyone is a champion against straw men of their own construction. Guys like Tucker look good against staged opponents because they don't let them punch back. You might win a battle that way, but you'll never win the war. A true champion of conservative principles is able to go into the lion's den and convince him to be a vegetarian. Reason and common sense will go a lot farther in the long run than bullying.
ETA: It’s not just Tucker. There’s nothing in any commentator’s or journalist’s job description that remotely qualifies them to lead the free world and make critical decisions on a daily basis. This message has been edited. Last edited by: jaaron11, July 05, 2020 06:26 PM

Much as I enjoy watching Tucker, and seldom differ with what he brings forth, I don't think he is a viable candidate for President.

Tucker is a nice guy and I agree with most but not all of his positions but that doesn't qualify him for this position. You actually need someone that can run things and get them done and Trump is THE best at that. Biden on the other hand has zero leadership skills but that makes no difference to the Dems and the media cartel.

Tucker has some good insights and expresses himself well. He has shown courage in the face of a lot of abuse, including some direct personal threats, and continues to speak up for what he believes. He deserves respect and I hope he stays in the "commentator" business.
But I don't think he is qualified, by temperament or experience, to be the executive of a large organization.
I think the job of a governor does a lot to prepare someone and gives us insights into how they would govern as President.

Tucker would be a great guest speaker at CPAC. He was made to yell from the side lines that is where he is most valuable.

Skill in analyzing information and offering cogent opinion is valuable. Our President must have far greater capabilities. Vision, drive, courage, discipline, principle, management, diplomacy, tact, and decisiveness come to mind.

I agree. I like Tucker but I doubt that he will run for President.
Moreover, it's way too early to be predicting anything about 2024. Let's concentrate on 2020.
"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Yup, it is silly.
But...in an effort to play the game, I would back Jesse Watters over Carlson any day of the week.
