Don't quote me on this. Other VA facilities maybe doing something different.

Here in the Las Vegas VAMC, I have been hearing overhead announcements these past few days saying... "Attention in the facility. Any veteran age 70 and above, who want the Covid vaccine, please proceed to the main auditorium before 2PM".

When I escort a patient going to a different unit, I see a line of veterans forming outside the auditorium. This has been happening the past few days. I know for a fact there are NO appointments being made (yet) for Covid Vaccines for the Veteran general population.

So to my beloved veterans who are above 70 years old, check with the main VA hospital in your area if the same thing is happening. While it may not be the most efficient way to get your Covid Vaccine, this may be a way to get it.

Again.... please do not quote me on this. This is my observation that I am passing to my elderly veterans here in the forum.

This seems like an important development for our beloved Veterans! Maybe change your thread title to something like:

PSA - VA Administering Covid 19 Vaccines for Veterans 70 and above. NO Appointment Needed

Icabod, is that regardless of age? Just wondering how it is being done at a different VA facility.
