The Ice Cream Man |
I bought some originals over the Presidents’ Day weekend art show - and I have become a really big fane of the “Superfine” art show. However, I live beachfront, which means the salt spray gets all over everything - and I like open windows/doors etc. Putting glass over a painting tends to reduce the impact, at least for me. Does anyone know of a type of frame, which I could swing open to look at the painting, then swing closed to protect it from salt?

Try searching shadow boxes. There are a variety of sizes and you might find one that fits your needs. ================================================ Ultron: "You're unbearably naive." Vision: "Well, I was born yesterday."

Partial dichotomy |
This may sound simplistic, but I think I'd find coordinating fabric that you could stitch into a drapable cover for each painting. I'm assuming they're different sizes. When covered, the draped cloth (I'm thinking tapestry-like) would provide a pleasant sight. Easy to just pull off when you want the paintings seen. As an advantage, they could be easily washed if necessary.

I would suggest that you research a little more into protective glass. I don’t know the cost, but I have seen rare and valuable paintings in museums that the glass protection was nearly undetectable.

They sell high end glass that you can not see and does not glare. Go to a higher end framing shop. _____________________________ Pledge allegiance or pack your bag!
