Very cool!

I woke up one morning to 2 Blackhawks hovering over the lagoon across the street from me. They were only about a half mile away.

And yes, they were black. Wink

Thank you! I had no clue what they were. I was working on my truck, heard them coming, and had to scramble to even catch a glimpse. My son was at the house already and took the video.

That's one hell of a view by the way.

here in central VA, we get fly overs of damn near every aircraft, helo or whatever from each branch

the Marines did a exercise a few times years ago in the city and burbs, with proper notification to the public not to freak out if a pile of helo's landed or hovered and people jumped out,

my house is in a flight zone for local and military,
used to hunt in an area he Navy used for low level practice,

I hear something out of the ordinary, kinda, and just pull up flightradar24 and see what it is,

I love that where I live is between several military bases and get to see military helicopters often. Many times they are at a low altitude when they go over my house because they stop to refuel and a small private airport near my house. It cracks me up because every time all these people from California and such that just moved here get so freaked out and post on Nextdoor and local Facebook groups in such concern as to why the military is flying by. Many of the answers make me laugh.

They were up here for Northern Strike 26-2. They were probably heading to an exercise at the calcite mine in Rogers City and decided to show off a little for the jet skiers who were tearing it up out there. Kind of a your jet skis are nice, but look what we get to play with.

Over 9,000 military personnel are descending on Michigan for one of the nation’s largest training exercises
