If not resolved promptly can it can take a LONG time to resolve, if ever. The strange asleep feeling is annoying in your foot or shin, but as it creeps up into your groin region is a real bummer. Best to get it resolved as soon as you can, steroids and other anti inflammatory drugs pronto, and surgery if required. Go see an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in spine work and get an MRI as soon as possible.

I can’t get into my doctor til Monday. I went to the walk-in clinic at my doctors office today to see the on-duty doctor, anyway. They said it’d be a 30 minute wait. 10 mins later they called me up and said there’s an emergency in the back and it would be 2 hours. So I left.

It does seem to be a little better today, the foot drop. We’ll see how it goes tomorrow.

I am convinced this is from crossing my left leg to over my right for hours on end. My bony right knee is sticking right into where the nerve is, under my left knee (and foot drop is in left foot).

There’s an exercise using a tennis ball. You put the ball under your toes, while sitting up, and move it around. Pull to you, push it away while maintaining control of the ball. Using your toes, not your heel.
Also, while laying on your back in bed,, move your foot and toes back towards your head, hold it for 10 or 15 seconds. Repeat 20 times. If you can’t do it well, use a theraband to pull your toes back. Keep your ankle and leg flat. I’ve even used my right leg to push back the toes on my left leg.
There are also other exercises online. Good Luck, these are the two that helped me.
