I’m going to be in Phoenix this Sunday. I think I might actually arrive early enough to have most of the day to take in the town or find something to do. I found a gun show in Glendale, is that worth checking out? Thought about checking it out just to pass the time. Any decent ranges that won’t be packed Sunday afternoon? I’ll be bringing along a 220 and sub2k at minimum. Rentals might be an option too. Not sure what I want to do other than I don’t want to sit in a hotel room all afternoon. Anything else that I could see/do in an afternoon? Monday morning I’m rolling out back to Texas

Not sure about the Glendale gun show. If you want to shoot, I recommend C2 Tactical in Tempe. It is right off the freeway (I-10 and Warner Rd). Have a good trip!

If you were going to be there during the week, a visit to Dillon Precision in Scottsdale might be good.

I won't recommend you drive out to where I was born, Bartlett Dam and Reservoir, about 50 miles NE of Phoenix, even though the dam is an unusual design (multiple arch). Naturally, when I visit family in Phoenix I do go there.

What part of town are you staying at?
Northeast Phx has Scottsdale Gun Club fairly close, "Central" Phx has Shooters World near and Northwest valley has Shooters World in Peoria. Southeast valley has the previously mentioned C2 Tactical.
(all are indoor)
Weekend crowds would be something to deal with without a reserved lane.

I went to one Glendale gun show *many* years ago and it was very small.
Don't have any idea what the current one would be like.

Shelby museum. You can shoot anytime, but you can't see all those Cobras anywhere else.

I’ll scratch the gunshow. It sounded small, just needed confirmation. No set place on where I’m staying but I must return the rental car by the airport which isn’t but a few miles away from where I’m picking up a truck Monday morning. I’m open to stay anywhere. Didn’t look like very many good places close to the airport anyways. Perhaps I’ll stay near a range or other attraction. I was looking at shooters world as it’s fairly close to where I need to be Monday morning.

I agree that’s why I’m asking what else’s to see/do. Only have Sunday to do it so it’s gotta be open on sundays. The range is an easy go to in the lack of anything else.

The new C2 Tactical in Scottsdale opened last week and their grand opening is tomorrow. They were still stocking shelves and displays when I was shooting there two days ago. It's about six miles from Scottdale Gun Club. SGC will be a total zoo on any Saturday, but lots of good stuff to drool over. And Bear Arms is about six more miles south at Scottsdale Rd. and Shea. Lots of good stuff there. If you want to hang out at a range, go to Ben Avery at I-17 and Carefree Hwy. It will also be crowded on a Sat., but there is some serious hardware to look at out there.
