I can’t think of the artist or name of a song. It’s in the Outlaw country genre...think Waylon Jennings/Merle Haggard/David Allen Coe type. In the song two guys stop at a bar on a road trip have a drink, find out it’s a gay bar and end up fighting their way out. I can’t for the life of me remember who sang it and what it’s name is. Thanks, CT

Well that was easy, now What was the song about a hippie(s) That walked in to a red neck bar ,in the south ,by mistake, But some how managed to get away unscathed. Maybe had mandolins and a banjo. Early 70's, I.i.r.c. soothing about spinning tires throwing rocks in the parking lot. Not gummies three steps by lynard skynard. Safety, Situational Awareness and proficiency. Ding ding ding ding, That's it, But IAM all kinda confused . Man o man, Wiki says that it only made it too #9 on billboards top 100. The local stations in eastern Iowa, sure played the heck out of it for seven months. This message has been edited. Last edited by: bendable, Safety, Situational Awareness and proficiency. Thank you! That’s the version I knew, it’s the first time I’ve heard the gay bar version, always associated it with hippie/pinko/commie/ flag. It’s one of my favorites. ETA: still like it better than the ‘88 version. By quite a bit. __________________________ "Trust, but verify."

I had never heard that song before. The one thing I love about so many of the country songs, is they tell a story. This one happens to be pretty damn humorous. The “lol” thread

Hah! I remember that song being played on all the FM rock stations. Never paid attention to, or heard of the band before, interesting to learn that it was Charlie Daniels, and I believe it was the first song of his that I had ever heard. ____________________________ NRA Life Member, Annual Member GOA, MGO Annual Member
