This vaccine is an mRNA vaccine like the SARS-COV-2 vaccine.

I'm old and I will take my chances with RSV.

I've had all the recommended shots except for Covid. I'm OK with the conventional vaccines, but that mRNA crap scares me. I had the Shingles series a few years ago and I'll take the tetanus update that I'm due for in another couple of years. But Covid, no. RSV, no. Probably anything else they start pushing, no. I just don't trust them to tell us the truth anymore. I've had exactly 2 flu shots, one the first year my employer offered them for free, and one while I was on chemotherapy. I had a bad reaction to the first one and only took the second because my oncologist strongly warned me about my immune system being compromised by the chemo.

[ETA] Heh. And 30 minutes after posting this I get an email from Medicare pushing the new Covid vaccine. Hard pass.

Shingles? Yeah, I think I need that.

Tetanus? Probably will do again, yeah.

Hepatitis? Yeah ok, did that. Will do again.

COVID, Flu, cold, any of this other stupid shit that has brainwashed kids wearing masks on their bikes and skateboards? Well you guys know what I would say. I've been swearing a lot lately...

Unless you are absolutely positive that it hasn’t been adulterated to include the ‘covid’ variant I would pass

Unfortunately and sad to say that we were let down and lied to by the medical industry and they have some serious work to do to rebuild that trust if it’s even possible.

I will pass on anything and everything from any pharma company because all we are is a revenue stream. Our health and wellbeing has been proven to be purely coincidental.

These fuckers (Big Pharma and their accomplice in the FDA/CDC) are trying to scare folks again. RSV is a respiratory virus that affect the infants and very young children most severely, especially in the premature babies. In adults, they are typically a "cold", upper respiratory infection, sometimes giving you the bronchitis. Even if it were a traditional vaccine (not mRNA), I wouldn't consider it.

Yup. Fuck Big Pharma!

Never embraced flu shots and this mRNA crap is ludicrous. No RSV for me either. Again fuck Big Pharma!

Yeah, see that's another gripe I have with how the gov't has run the whole Covid vaccine thing. Does everybody taking the jabs think that Pfizer and Moderna are donating the stuff out of the goodness of their cold black little hearts? Free my ass.

Here is my family's experience:

My wife and I both got the first round of COVID vaccines in January 2021 (Moderna for me and Pfizer for her) as well as the December 2021 booster because we were basically forced to by work. If I had to do it over again I was have refused and taken the consequences, but oh well.

We've each had COVID three times since 2020. The first time (Alpha variant) sucked (extreme exhaustion followed by a nasty cough and runny nose for about three weeks) and the second two times (Omicron variant) it was basically a very mild cold that lasted a few days. My elderly parents and my wife's both had it as well and experienced similar symptoms. I have a family member in their late 80's that also had it in July 2021 and came out just fine. I have absolutely no fear of COVID whatsoever and retrospectively think it was the most overhyped scam in world history.

We have a 3 year old and 5 year old that we will not allow to get the vaccine. The older one has had COVID three times and the younger one two times. Guess what? Both of their symptoms were mild and basically mimicked vaccinated Mom and Dad.

We all had RSV in October 2022 (last year). It sucked, but it was basically a bad cold with a cough. It took about three weeks to get over.

We all had Influenza B last Thanksgiving (November 2022). It put by older daughter in the hospital because of dehydration from vomiting and diarrhea. It was mild for Mom and Dad and the younger one just vomited a lot.

We went to Disneyland this past June (2023..came home June 21) and were rewarded with RSV again. It wasn't quite as bad as the first go around and lasted about two weeks. We were all completely better by the second week of July (everyone had sniffles on the 4th).

With a Kindergartner that drags home everything we opted to get the flu vaccine. I've gotten the flu vaccine off and on for years, but after last year and dealing with taking my daughter to the hospital on Thanksgiving I'd rather be safe than sorry. It's a safe an proven vaccine that has been around a long time.

My wife had postpartum Shingles in December 2020/January 2021 and is still suffering the effects of neuralgia in her face. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. We will both be getting the Shingles vaccine at some point. Again, a vaccine that is proven and has been around a long time.

Having had COVID three times (twice after being vaccinated) and RSV twice, I will never get another mRNA vaccine. The vaccine reaction for me was worse than COVID and it still scares me to think there may be unknown long term effects for my wife and I. We will NOT let our daughters get a mRNA vaccines either.

So take it for what it's worth, but I would skip the RSV vaccine.

I had not heard that this was another mRNA vaccine. When did this get approved? Tested?

If true ...just hell NO!! They still have not made one that works!

Big pharma’s goal is to bleed you dry. If you are healthy or not immunocompromised, you are better off letting your body give you all the antibodies you need. At 58, have never had Covid, flu, or RSV vaccines. Had Covid in November 2021, never since. Couldn’t tell you if I had flu or not as any “colds” haven’t been severe enough to get tested for it- same with RSV. As it is, big pharma is not worthy of trust so I won’t be getting any of their snake oil concoctions unless my health deteriorates to the point that a cold could actually kill me. Even then, it would take a lot of decision making.

No way for the RSV shot. As far as the regular flu shot goes, that is a maybe. The wife and I have gotten it pretty much each fall for years but the jury is still out.

I had a really bad respiratory infection for two months that took two rounds of antibiotics to clear. My lungs sounded bad enough to warrant an x ray. Multiple tests for flu, strep and Covid all negative. Whatever I had is QUITE resialiant but hardly anything that would make me get a vaccine.

Other than coughing a lot, having little to no energy and trouble sleeping along with tons of congestion it wasn’t really all that bad.

It killed my productivity for two months but it wasn’t close to being as bad as a nasty stomach bug.

I’m done with vaccines.

That COVID crap never was a “vaccine”.
As a childhood Polio surviver I happy the Polio vaccine spares kids the suffering today.
As a VA patient I don’t carry part C Medicare.. I checked and the RSV shot is $162.00. I passed, but did get my high strength (quadrivalient) flu shot.
The VA has some short videos on the difference in the illnesses and differing vaccines with out any hype for those still on the fence.
Seek out a DO instead of an MD, makes a world of difference in the approach to care.

I had never seen an ad about RSV until after people started opting out of the Covid shots. Hell, I had never heard of RSV until then. I don’t get flu shots, because they give me flu like symptoms for a couple of days, which is exactly how long I normally have flu symptoms on the rare occasion I get it. I did get the Shingles vaccines, because I got a mild case of it and I sure don’t want a bad case. Other than that, I get the appropriate shots when traveling overseas.
