Before I retired I worked traffic accidents where the local media wrote them up to the best of their ability for the local electronic newsmedia or the local paper. Typically, the same two people responded. Both of them are decent people but getting the facts straight rarely happened. Details like which street has the right of way at an intersection (obvious...see the big red sign?) or getting the correct occupants in each vehicle weren't necessarily verified. I don't know if they were in a hurry to be the first, didn't proofread or were just sloppy. As a result, when I read a news story I'm pretty certain that something happened. Beyond that...something happened.

Someone needs to call Jeff Zucker at CNN/MSMBC and let him know that 'he' needs us, we do not need 'him'. The are nothing but pure propaganda channels pumping out pure BS 24/7/365, and damn near everyone knows it at this point. ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom. Split experiences here. The few times I’ve had personal knowledge of events reported in a newspaper or local news, they were laughably wrong. Like, reporting events that never happened, getting facts wrong, missing or ignoring crucial info, etc. However, there are some what I would call technical or sector-specific news sites that have done a surprisingly good job reporting information in a concise, but useful, fashion. These are outlets that focus on a specific industry or technical niche that they have some knowledge or training in. So, the less specialized the reporting, the less likely it is to be useful, at least in general in my experience. - Bret

A neighbor of mine was into Ham Radio and talked to some important people around the World a lot. One day a reporter from a local paper came to interview him and do a story. I read the story and asked him about it. He grinned and said it was right I’m into Ham Radio and talk to a lot of people, the rest was nonsense.

I truly despise 99.9% of them. Even the local ones are full of biased crap or too lazy to actually get things right. All they do is regurgitate the same stories from their network affiliates (which I despise 100%) almost word for word.

I get virtually ALL of my news from SigForum. Print, Internet and Video media are so blatantly biased that you cannot believe a single thing you see, hear or read. Therefore, I ignore it. While I'm aware enough to be concerned, I'm not overwhelmed by it, refuse to be intimidated by it and frankly, very little has changed in my world. When Trump is re-elected (notice I didn't say "if"...) I'm hoping a tidal wave of push-back will develop. I'm REALLY fed up with artificial and pointless COVID restrictions. If that materializes, I'll be on the front lines. Right now I'm just dealing as businesses are at the mercy of the GDC's in power. Be careful when following the masses. We record the 9:00 PM news on one of our local channels. That way, we can just fast forward through fake news and other useless crap that we don't want to see. If some event peaks my interest and I want to know more, I research it on the internet. We stopped watching any of the cable or "mainstream" news programs. "In God We Trust"

I think Pravda would be embarrassed to run with some of the stories we see or read. Today’s media is nothing more than entertainment, has nothing to do with accuracy, truth, or objectivity. They pursue a path left or right set by the folks running the company and then do all ANYTHING to drum up clicks, views, and readers. There is basically no consequences. There are some exceptions here and there - but they are gleefully pitting americans against each other and damn the consequences. Frankly they and this behavior is evil. “Forigive your enemy, but remember the bastard’s name.” -Scottish proverb

I don't get all of my news from SigForum, but I find the Forum "news" has credible sources from all across the US, covering very needful events and topics, often not covered by the mainstream media (or often very distorted by the mainstream media). Today's mainstream media is mostly a tool used by liberals to brainwash the masses.
This is correct. It's all about money, popularity, influence. Truth and objectivity are nowhere in their formula. "Liberty lies in the hearts of men and women. When it dies there, no constitution, no law, no court can save it....While it lies there, it needs no constitution, no law, no court to save it" - Judge Learned Hand, May 1944

I think the visual media especially is running on the minimum viewers needed theory. Its a business model. With the internet and other outlets there is a lot of competition for attention. So, the visual medium decided what is the minimum amount of viewership needed to support their business, and they identified who's watching now, and why, and how to cater to them to keep them. They understand the days of 30 million viewing nightly news casts are gone. But, the visual media is fighting back. Wasn't it Para that posted that graph a while back about how 6 large corporations have bought up all the smaller outlets. Fewer and fewer people are controlling what everyone consumes as news today. Internet or not. And, I suspect they'll get around to buying up internet concerns as well. _________________________ OH, Bonnie McMurray!

Quit watching over a decade ago. They are chickenhawk traitors with an agenda. It's lies and propaganda meant to weaken this country. Been saying for years they are the #1 worst offenders in existence. Tar and feather is too good for them. They should be hung in public for seditious treason. Politicians #2.

It's already been mentioned, but there's literally a term for this. The Gell-Mann Amnesia Effect: [Quote The Gell-Mann Effect, also called the Gell-Mann Amnesia Effect describes the phenomenon of an expert believing news articles on topics outside of their field of expertise even after acknowledging that articles written in the same publication that are within the expert's field of expertise are error-ridden and full of misunderstanding.[/quote] https://loricism.fandom.com/wi...-Mann_Amnesia_Effect ________________________________________________

The mainstream media is mental conditioning and mind control. Someone should sue them for claiming to be news, and there should be a regular real news broadcast every day to break down how they are all showing the same subjects, telling us what to think, and point out the obvious cues and signals and falsehoods they spread, and the real news they 'neglected' to inform us about in an unbiased professional manner. Just my opinion. ________________________________________________________ You never know...

The mass media is doing nothing more than their mental masturbation. They get their jollies. Mass Media Mental Masturbation? That thought just popped into my mind. I'd like to state that more eloquently. If someone can help that'd be great. The eloquence, not the reach around. .
