I swear I’m not nuts. I remember searching for it on my library’s online system at the time with no luck, but it was on Audible but I didn’t get it at the time.

Can’t remember the name. I’ve searched for half an hour.

Author’s pen name was something like John Q Public. I don’t remember anything about the title, but it was similar in nature to the One Second After series if I recall correctly, and was an audiobook.

Ring a bell?

Knowing what one is talking about is widely admired but not strictly required here.

Although sometimes distracting, there is often a certain entertainment value to this easy standard.

Fortschen's "48 Hours," a novel about the consequences of a massive solar flare striking the earth may be what you are referencing, it has a lot in common, stylistically, with his EMP novels. ISTR that there was some discussion of this book on SF a while back.

Of course he also wrote One Year After. Not great IMHO, but I read it.

Nah, it wasn't Fortschen. I've listened to almost all of his, all in that series.

The John Q Prepper might have been it. But I'm not 100%. I'm still trying to find the original thread. It was in the last month or two.

A. American. The book is “Going Home”. He has a series of them, Like 6 or 7.

All good and provoke some thought.

Mine are soft cover, bought through the online auction site.
