BBMWCCP establishes police station in New York City
Of course the NYPD has posts in foreign countries, as does the FBI.
If the Chinese tried to employ police powers in the US, like trying to arrest someone, they may get a nasty surprise.

Based on their behavior in the Houston consulate, they
will arrest people until they get a nasty surprise.
At the same time, what's the difference between arresting someone and 'encouraging' them to 'voluntarily' fly back to Red China by threatening their families?
And to hell what New York City does - if they can afford to maintain so many foreign offices (and I don't think that's a municipality's role) then they can afford to quit holding their hand out for more and more federal dollars.

Well, it's only fair... NYPD has 14 overseas offices.

Toronto, Canada
Montréal, Canada
Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
Madrid, Spain
Paris, France
Lyon, France
London, England
The Hague, Netherlands
Tel Aviv, Israel
Amman, Jordan
Doha, Qatar
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Singapore
Sydney, Australia
Are these offices with actual staff or are they simply a liaison with one or two officers working on very specific intel/info like counter terrorism, human & drug trafficking etc.
I know some dept's have an exchange program with counterparts in other countries as well. One for one exchange for six months or whatever.
But an actual station? what does that even look like?

BMRIt’d be ironic if their fellow Commies, like BLM and Anqueefa, burned it to the ground.

Small number of liason detectives, who deal with stuff like anti-terrorism intelligence and international criminal cases in cooperation with the host country's police agencies.
I (mostly) meant it as a joke, and a neat bit of less commonly known trivia.

DennisMIn the 90s, they had dozens of "Defense Attaches" at their NYC consulate... because, y'know, the extensive military cooperation between the USA and PRC.
No, because they were MI. In the open, with diplomatic protection.
They became more numerous in the 2000s. There's no pretense anymore. This is just the People's Armed Police getting into the game like their military counterparts.
We at least make an attempt at hiding our spies.

https://nypost.com/2023/04/18/...ying-on-nyc-la-more/After FBI busts Chinese ‘police station’ in NYC, six more exposed in US
The FBI helped shut down a clandestine Chinese “police station” in Manhattan after the arrest of two alleged operatives earlier this week — but The Post is told that there are several more of these illegal organizations scattered across the US.
In addition to the Chinese police station above a noodle restaurant in Manhattan’s Chinatown, there is another station at an undisclosed address in New York City, as well as an outpost in Los Angeles, according to a new report by Safeguard Defenders.
In addition to Los Angeles and New York, the nonprofit has found so-called “overseas service stations” in San Francisco and Houston as well as in cities in Nebraska and Minnesota.
These law enforcement organizations, operated by the Chinese Communist Party, are tasked with spying on Chinese nationals around the world.
