Boy I guess he sure showed him.
All he'll get is probation for simple battery.
Some defender will get him off with a slap on the wrist and try to hold the victim equally accountable.
The 'net had doxxed him now too,
Bet he gets police protection now.
He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster.

Agreed.
Can't we just call it "assault and battery"?

Oh. No. No, no, no.
You see, they was arguin' and that there means that any connection between my fist acceleratin' expeditiously and your face impeding the progress thereof, that is what we call here a fair punch.
I'm surprised you all didn't come upon this conclusion by your own recognizance.

AirmanJeffI vote no sucker punch as well. If you run your mouth to someone right in their face and point your finger you have to be prepared for what may follow. A sucker punch is when you are completely not looking or turned around and had no idea it was coming.

Therefore the guy deserved to have his face bashed in?

Depends on what was said.

Lefty SigSimple assault? Looks like Battery to me. If it's anything like my state that's a class B misdemeanor. Looks like aggravated battery due to a reasonably young man beating on an senior citizen.

oooooooo, he pointed his FINGER! Now I see the completely reasonable and surely legal escalation!
My goodness, what if he had pointed two? Or made a pew-pew noise? Of God forbid flown the bird? I guess we'd have cause to shoot him then.
Some of you guys are really starting to concern me, but it is a broad cross-section I guess.
