Good point. I wonder if the insurer would pay for the cleanup?

The deceased's family should foot the bill.

It’s El Paso. Even money the guy was a wet Mexican sending money home to family across the border.

The homeowner told responding officers he had found the would-be burglar after discovering a broken window and pools of blood. He was able to call the police after locating a phone charger and letting it fully recharge over night.
Wouldn't it be awesome if the rest of the story was along those lines?

My understanding is yes, but after a deductible.

ftttuOn more the one occasion I've recovered blood at burglary calls for similar reasons, but I never had one where the bad guy died like in this story. However, a pretty good trail of blood helped me to arrest a burglar shortly after I began searching.
Another trail led to a bad guy's house, but he was popped later by detectives since he had already left before I had arrived.
I'm pretty sure this guy will be sued like everyone else who gets injured or dies on another's property. You know, the guy should have had safety glass installed...

The incident occurred during the evening of 11/6. The story was first published on 11/7 by local news agencies. Fox News just picked it up and published their story earlier today.
So yeah, it's possible you may have seen the same news story a few days ago through a smaller news outlet. But 5ish days is still far from "old news".

YooperSigsGood story. Several of my burglars pooped in their victims houses. None of mine bled to death though.
