Rocky was born Thursday night at 9:50 PM. Here he is Friday afternoon. It's always amazing to me seeing how quickly they are up and moving around right after being born.

Its's exhausting being so cute!

Tell her she is welcome. If you're on Facebook our feed is pretty much horses, heelers and cats - send an email to my forum address and I'll send a friend request. Same to any other forum member.

We've had a few foals over the years. They are a constant source of entertainment.

Yeah, mother nature makes sure they are up and about pretty quick after being born. They have to be if they want to survive out on the prairie.

Absolutely love watching a foal from the moment they stand through the first six months of their lives. The curiosity, spookiness, and ridiculous amounts of energy are absolutely hysterical to watch. Rocky is gorgeous and looks like a winner.

Derp! I should have seen that one coming! Between vet, farrier and feed bills we provide for a lot of vacations!

Great memories. Right after we were married, my wife and I went to the Santa Ynez area of Central Coast, California. I was the foreman of a race horse breeding and training farm. We had a full time veterinarian, but mares ALWAYS foal out at night. I delivered roughly 300 foals during the time we were there.

The miracle of birth. I never grew tired of seeing those foals take their first breath.

I could write another story Wink

My daughter loved looking at these. She's been riding horses for about 11 years and loves them.

On the other hand, Cali doesn't look too amused.

Nothing like watching a new foal, used to work over the summers on a Thoroughbred farm, watched several births, it's amazing how quick they are up.

Good looking foals
