Cool! Bit far for me tho . I'm going down to Owl's Head Transportation Museum (just south of Rockland) tomorrow for their vintage motorcycle show. It's usually a pretty good show. OHTM Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

In the first pic I see a CB 1100 F (closest right side). That was my first bike but I had the Hondaline fairing with matching paint scheme. That was one very fun bike. Good at the track (for its time) and a more than adequate touring ride.

Hope everyone who goes has a great time! For a super-quick side trip from downtown Main Street, the famous 11'8" truck-eating "Can-Opener" bridge is about a mile from downtown Durham where that picture was taken. 201 Gregson St - link to Google maps Too many great restaurants and watering holes in Durham/Chapel Hill/Raleigh to list. As one idea, the Raleigh Beer Garden (about 30 minutes from downtown Durham) has the largest number of beers on tap of any single premises in the US. Just a thought!

Made it to the Vintage Motorcycle show at Owl's Head. Couple hundred bikes, took some pictures of the ones that stood out for one reason or another. Kawasaki GPz550. Not terribly unusual, but immaculate. Nice old Beemer with a sidehack. Honda Hawk Jawa 2-smoker. Morini (Moto Morini?) I'm thinking the 3-1/2 means a 350? 850 Commando...slobber...drool... RD350. Had a '73 back in the day. Quick little thang. Appears to be an inline 2 cylinder 2 stroke. Guy had loaded up and was leaving before I could ask. Nice little Suzuki trials bike. Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

Great pics PHPaul!! Looks like that was a fun show! I had a blast at the rumble. I will post up some pics soon. Tons of Triumphs, probably more British bikes and Honda’s than anything else. I saw a VERY cool HIGHLY modified BMW R series cafe style bike and a RD400 that was arguably the most amazing and wildly customized minimalist machine I’ve ever seen. Custom frame, custom exhaust, custom just about everything and the build quality and welds were good enough to be in a modern art museum. It was amazing. It also looked light enough to pick up. I wish I could have located its owner and discussed its design and find out who did those welds. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The price of liberty and even of common humanity is eternal vigilance

Actually pretty unusual. I'm rebuilding one as we speak. Finding "stock" parts is major bitch. I loved the GPz models, fast as hell for their day. Thanks for posting!
