The past 2 paychecks my federal withholding has increased about $15. That's every 2 weeks, so about $7/week. Not a huge amount but I have no idea why. Nothing else has changed. Curious if anyone else has seen this.

These go to eleven.

This would be a question for your employer. The federal withholding tables have not changed as far as I know.

This does happy at the end of the year for employees who have a change, like maybe they sell back PTO time they purchased.

Evil exists. You can not negotiate with, bribe or placate evil. You're not going to be able to have it sit down with Dr. Phil for an anger management session either.

Don't worry, next year you'll get to see a real jump in your "voluntarily contributions" to the waste, fraud and abuse fund.
Do you get an itemized area on your paystub? Maybe something in your state taxes?

That is nothing compared to what is coming if the Republicans fail to win the Senate seats in Georgia. The free community college idea is back in the mix as well.

Lol...your faith in any HR troll is much stronger than mine (apologies to our resident HR peoples).

Our HR manifests incompetence. It’s frankly amazing sometimes. And they essentially have immunity for their screw ups.

Hopefully his is better.

I concur. I’d rather not the stress of trying to get answers from HR. It all comes out in the wash anyhow. I was just curious if something happened I hadn’t heard about.

Sorry. I am my own HR department and have been self employed since the 1980s. It is such a simple question. They used to be called Personnel. It is not that hard.

I started a Masters in Public Administration a few years ago. One semester of that vomit was all I could tolerate. I can only imagine what an HR program has to be like!

This happened to my wife, and everybody at her employer. The explanation from HR was that the payroll processor missed that there were going to be 25 pay dates in 2020 rather than the usual 26, and they had to increase the withholding mid-year to ensure that the proper amount was withheld for the year.

Interesting. Hey, off topic... Are you using Imgur for your avatar? I don't see your avatar, only a ?. Same with my Avatar. I've noticed this a few times and when I log back into Imgur it seems to fix the issue. Can you see my avatar?
