Nah. They'll just invent new ones. "America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system,,,, but too early to shoot the bastards." -- Claire Wolfe "If we let things terrify us, life will not be worth living." -- Seneca the Younger, Roman Stoic philosopher

Companies are in a tight spot with this. LGBTQ is currently a "thing" in the public mind, driven by activists pushing this lifestyle in all walks of life, doing it at lower and lower age ranges, and in locations that were once thought free from politics or sexual expression. I am interested in everyone being treated equally by government and society. I.e., don't be in my shit, and I won't be in yours. Young people, however, having been force-fed minority group rights issues for their entire education, which equates to a majority of their life time, are far more attuned to, and sensitive about these issues. They have been convinced that these minority groups have been actively oppressed. Companies then aren't just trying to pitch to the LGBTQ community, they are trying to telegraph to Millennials and Gen Z that they "get it", and appear to be hip, inclusive, and welcoming to all. Realistically, however, the best estimate is that the entire LGBTQ group makes up something like 4% to 5% of the population as a whole, meaning that we are all being bombarded with messaging that relates to a tiny population and their supporters, as we are all starting to resent it. Mostly, it feels insincere and inauthentic. You almost never notice LGBTQ people in public, unless they take specific steps to tell you that they are "different". A gay man, dressed as a man, looks like a man, and is treated like a man by everyone he meets. To tell me that you are different, make me react to your difference, and then tell me how I must respond to you is seriously irritating. To then be preached to about equality, when we feel like we are already giving equality is very irritating. I respect the rights of the LGBTQ to live as they like. I simply ask that they do the same for me. "I vowed to myself to fight against evil more completely and more wholeheartedly than I ever did before. . . . That’s the only way to pay back part of that vast debt, to live up to and try to fulfill that tremendous obligation." Alfred Hornik, Sunday, December 2, 1945 to his family, on his continuing duty to others for surviving WW II.
