Day one I got there nice and early. I was able to park one block away at the Hilton. I stopped and had breakfast before the show at the Omni Hotel restaurant and The who's who of the gun world were there eating breakfast. I hit the show floor right at 9am and right off the bat this one seemed a lot bigger than the Pittsburgh show. I made my way to one end and worked my way down. I tapped like 8 cowboys on the shoulder but none of them turned out to be Rolan. I did see Donald Trump Jr walking around multiple times with his security detail. He was taking pictures with folks...seemed pretty personable.

Now for some pics....

A lady gave me this hat the second I walked in...I found it pretty funny

Stickman's next bike

Coonan's new 45ACP and 357 Commander-ish guns. Still heavy and rattley

Duck Hunt anyone?

STI's new DVC Carry, 9mm, similar in size to a Glock 19, double stack, very very good trigger

This thing (Heizer defense), it's like holding on to an awkward bar of soap that also shoots large bullets

This I found interesting. It's basically a Tanfoglio Elite Limited SAO but with a polymer lower. It was very smooth and comfortable to hold.

Kimber Wheelgun...I was impressed by the trigger. Easy to stage. Much lighter than my S&W's. The Kimber guys sort of hinted at a 9mm possibly in the future.

Think we can put a pistol brace on this to avoid pesky NFA stamps? By Dasan

Wilson Combat 9mm 15 round 1911ish carry gun

H is for Hudson. Shipping late Mayish. I will likely buy one just cause'

Lipsys Glock 19...I think it needs more serrations

HK VP9sk. Also getting one. One of the HK guys said not to rule out a P7 run. He said "there may be some parts and possibly more surplus guns" laying around..wink wink (he didn't say wink wink but he did actually wink then winked a second time)

Silencerco Maxxim 9. This thing is way lighter and way more unruly than you think

220 Legion SAO.

210 Super Target

210 Target. Both of these have super nice triggers.

Sig's 'Murica commemorative. Out July 4th 2017. I don't know what being distressed has to do with being America but whatevs

320 X-series line up. I can't lie I wasn't very impressed. Trigger pull did not seem any better than the standard 320.

I did ask the Sig guys a bunch of questions and some of the things I got from them were don't expect a 938 HD anytime soon or not soon, don't expect the 239 to be around much longer after 2017, don't expect a 938 Legion next year but it might happen.

Beretta APX. I am not a fan. My friend Josh Rowe from AGW made the sight base for them which is really nice. One of the Beretta development guys did mention bringing back some desirable guns and first one on my lips was the 92 Combat which he said was being talked about very seriously.

Color me impressed. The P10 hits all the marks in my book. Their first shipment to distributors arrived on the 26th so expect them out soon.

Dan Wesson A2 Retro enhanced 1911

Another gun I was impressed by was the XD E. single stack 9mm DA/SA with external hammer. The DA was very smooth and felt similar to a 2022 in trigger stroke.

Another one I was impressed with. No so much the looks but the fit and finish. It felt almost premium. This is the first pistol Taurus USA engineered and built totally in the US.

New USA made Taurus AR rifles

New Canik competition model. This things feels like it has a 2lb trigger.

Review ain't over without pictures of these guys.

I did see jljones at the GG booth and picked up this bad boy. Flat faced trigger for DA/SA Sigs. I'm excited to drop this one into a gun when I get home.

Motorcycle Officers getting ready for the Trump motorcade

....and I just wrote all of this while enjoying all of this at Fox Bros Smile

WOW! thanks for sharing. That Sig 1911 could have been so much cooler without the distressed look.

Yeah it actually looks like the die cast fake gun molds holsters makers use. If they would have done a nice case coloring or traditional high polish blue maybe.

Thanks for the pics.... and making me wish I was there.
That Kimber Wheelgun has nice looking wood grips but I'm still not sure what I think of hammerless revolvers.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Thanks for the write up.

On the X series, you didn't care for the trigger, how did you feel about the ergos of that grip frame vs the normal 320?

The trigger felt heavier then the 320 full size I recently sold. The grip frame feels the same. I didn't really notice any difference. I will say that the lines of the grip frame make it look cheaper or cheesier. The original grip frame as a classic Sig look to it akin to the plastic grip panels on the Classic P series guns. The new one not so much.

I didn't really take any pictures, but I had a good time.

thoughts?

I liked the Colt Cobra a lot. The Colt people said that they were shipping with a price point of about $700. We'll see.

Hill and Mac were there with their prototypes of the STG44 in .223, .300, or 7.62x39. It was HEAVY. Really groovy.

I tried all the major Bullpups I was looking at: Desert Tech, X95, and Steyr. The Steyr felt best. I see one of these in my future.

Really liked the Ruger LCRx 3" in .22, but I'm still waiting for them to release on in .357. The guy wasn't very forthcoming about future releases.

Bought a few things, but not much.

Dusty, great pics! Thanks!

Now do us another favor and go to Springfield Armory and Rock River Arms (if they're there) booths and flip them off! Tell them they shot themselves in the foot by selling out to the Chicago anti gun Senators on anti FFL and private sales. Thanks!

If you haven't voted yet for the board. Take a look at Adam kraut. He's a close friend of mine, a 2a attorney, and does more for our rights than anyone I know.

Voting is in room b403, 8am-4pm tomorrow. My understanding is you have to either be a life member, or have 5 consecutive years membership. He really is the type of guy we need shaping the organization.

So one of the Sig reps told me they were actually going to discontinue it this year in favor of the 225a1 but they still had some demand so they put out only two models of the 239 for 2016-2017. those aren't selling that well so he said that it likely will be discontinued. 224 and 229c are confirmed gone for good.

Outstanding pictures, thanks for the update. I think it is perfectly disgusting that XD is now offering a little hammer gun. I may have to buy one.
