Spring gobbler season let's see yours

Got this guy this morning around 10am. Benelli M1-Super 90 strikes again. A load of copper plated 6's and he felt real bad. Let's see yours! Watch out for the dang ticks too..and probably snakes...yuck.

This is why I don't shoot them much anymore. They're very good at keeping my property tick free. I don't much care for the meat either. That's a nice looking bird, though. Well done!

I'm surprised 6-shot brought him down. Them are some tough birds. I remember well hitting one with my bow. 35 yards broadside. Stuck a broadhead right through his chest and it went down right there. Walked up him and he got up, looked at me, and flew off with the broadhead sticking out one side of his chest and the fletching sticking out the other. Damndest thing I ever saw.

Those birds can be the dumbest genius' ever. You have to hunt them with camouflage that would fool the Predator... but they'll walk out in front of a car. If you make the slightest noise in your stand, they're off like a shot... but I drag a lawn chair across the deck, making a scraping sound, and a Tom answers the challenge and later comes down the hill to chase off the "other Tom".

I would like to apologize to anyone I have *not* offended. Please be patient. I will get to you shortly.

I have a lot of semi-tame around my house. In the winter when they flock up numbers get to 30 or so. I give them cracked corn in the heart of the colder weather.

I have shot some years ago, leave these alone , though I do allow the neighbor to hunt with his bow. There are a few to many, roost in my distant front yard, White pine trees. Below the roosting trees it’s matted with poop.

They do have a tough time rearing the young, the eggs themselves very vulnerable to scavengers, which continues as they hatch. Of course a few make it.

Very nice! Congrats!

Our season starts 01 May. I am hoping to get out next weekend.

I don't hunt them, but they've been out and about lately strutting their stuff. They're fun to watch.

Wild turkeys walk around in flocks. My terrier doesn't care for them and will flush them up to the neighbors roofs.
