Edge seeking Sharp blade! |
I think it was Agostini when he went there to observe, concluded they were nuts. I didn't know they went that fast most of the time. Little time spent at slow speeds. Basically a bunch of near straightaways connected by slower speed turns.

That so? Doesn't look like that to me. http://www.silhouet.com/motorsport/tracks/manxtt.html

I'm surprised how much time is spent in the upper 200's KPH.

Slower speed turns is relative. Yes there are a few hair pins/ slower speed turns but consider this: “Speaking of records, Dunlop managed to break the superbike average speed lap record with an astonishing 135.970-mile-per-hour pace during the sixth and final lap of the RST Superbike race on Sunday. He did, however, have an issue with his visor, causing him to miss out on a 27th TT win, with Peter Hickman taking the victory.” That is a scary fast average speed! 136mph for an average? Watching the speedo going over 300kph / 186+ mph… I’ve been on motorcycles before, I’ve been on fast ones too. Yeah, in my impetus youth, I pegged the speedo on a Boss Hoss on a straight shot on the expressway in the wee hours of the morning. Not going to lie, it was FUN! But there’s no way in hell that I could even come close to doing what those guys do! Watching the TT, a lot of the time, they’re on one wheel or totally airborne. CRAZY!!!!! Impressive amount of skill and ability, but CRAZY! What did Hemingway say about there’s only 3 true sports: Bull fighting, Rock climbing and Racing. Because if you don’t know what you’re doing, you die. ______________________________________________________________________ "When its time to shoot, shoot. It is sped up to make it look faster. Actually I think the whole thing is AI generated. There is absolutely no way that a human without some sort of super powers could be doing (checks notes) 300kph on a bike through these towns. nope. You would have to memorize every frickin turn, anticipated speeds, 100 markers for braking points, friction to speed/mass ratios . . . I could go on but no. Normal people cannot do this, it would take some sort of super human bordering on insane. no truly insane. Seriously, frick me thats fast, and the helmet cam. that is difficult to process. Several times I thought he was driving into a building or wall. What an amazing video. This business will get out of control. Piece of cake, riding that fast on public roads. Nice is overrated "It's every freedom-loving individual's duty to lie to the government." Airsoftguy, June 29, 2018

And, IIRC, no speed limits outside the towns, on a normal day. Top Gear used to go there for road tests, on occasion. The Enemy's gate is down.

Woke up today.. Great day! |
Rode motorcycles for 45 years including some road racing. Those guys have huge brass balls! Impressive video for sure!

A man's got to know his limitations |
That was pretty wild, watched it on my TV with audio system cranked up. Pretty sure I saw his speedometer hit 317 KPH once! "But, as luck would have it, he stood up. He caught that chunk of lead." Not AI, not sped up. I don’t know about “super human”, but those guys are THE BEST bike riders out there. Not a bunch of 25 year old yahoos lane splitting down the local expressway on a shitty Ninja 750 paid off by Daddys money. Reflexes faster than a kitty cat on cocaine. One of the more dangerous sports events out there. I want to say a (without looking it up) little over 110 people have died since the first race. But at speeds averaging 135+mph, at least the end is going to be quick. Isle of Man is the 2 wheel version of LeMans. (Just not 24hrs worth of speed) Yes, those riders will walk the track a few times on foot, drive it at low speed a few times before even thinking about racing it. (IIRC-) 12 days of racing a 37 mile course. ______________________________________________________________________ "When its time to shoot, shoot. My attempt at humor evidently fell short. I know the video is real and that it is not sped up. I was trying to make a joke that IF it was real, that would make these guys SUPERS. but I guess we take things way to serious. I also, thought that my comment 'Seriously, frick me thats fast, and the helmet cam. that is difficult to process. Several times I thought he was driving into a building or wall. What an amazing video.' clarified that I had been trying to be funny and that I believe the video to be real. Maybe I should have just made a generic comment about 'balls of steel' or something. Damn, why cant people have fun anymore. This business will get out of control.
