Caught in a loop |
My Opa worked at Porsche for 37 years, and this was his retirement gift from the company, and my Oma gave me this when he passed in October. I want to pay homage to him and the company, so I want to do something creative with this valve cover turned plaque. I've got some Bolivian rosewood that I had book matched so I can use it as a backing plate. I just need to figure out the best way to mount the part on the wood. My plan is to get some all-thread and T nuts and make it look like it's bolted onto an engine, but I'm trying to figure out what it came from so I can get or make something that looks close enough. If it helps, he retired in 1997. I've left a little bit of space because I also have a Porsche NA 1st anniversary keychain I want to display next to it. I apologize if the images are too big. I had to do some extra special maneuvering to get these up, and then get around the content filters at work. "In order to understand recursion, you must first learn the principle of recursion."

Its for a 944/928. More of a 356/911 guy so it may be even more specific

That would've been my first guess too, maybe 924? Cayenne didn't come out until 02, so that's a no go. The Enemy's gate is down.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should |
944S valve cover, based on the part number. Probably held down with 8mmx1.25 studs with washers and nylock nuts. Here's one in much worse shape than yours. https://www.ebay.com/itm/265226166093 These would be the nuts and they should have the flat washers too. https://www.wurthusa.com/Hardw...13Wr-Yellow/p/036808 ___________________________ Avoid buying ChiCom/CCP products whenever possible.
