I just gave a fake name & address to Officer Conner. He then "located me on his computer". I then asked for his address & phone number. Officer Conner hung up on me!
My elderly mom got a call from her grandson yesterday saying he was in Georgia and was hurt and needed money. When she asked which grandson and what was his name he had the audacity to hang up on her. This message has been edited. Last edited by: fiasconva,

Only if he doesn't call back with the numbers off those iTunes gift cards quickly enough. (It sure is handy that they're accepting those to pay federal court fines and back taxes these days, innit?)

I really should answer my phone on occasion. It'd probably make for a fun afternoon...

Only after they "prosecute the law case against him", but rest assured, "a warrant for his arrest today has been summoned".

Yeah, I have my phone set to silence all calls from unrecognized numbers, if it’s important, they can leave a message. They never do.

I don't answer calls I don't recognize. Perhaps I should. I seem to be missing out on the fun.

Hell, half the time I don't answer calls from numbers I recognize.

I have a friend who is a Senior Criminal Investigator with the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
He got the "I'm with the IRS and we've issued an arrest warrant for unpaid taxes" scammer call, at his desk, at IRS HQ in Washington, DC.
Boy did he have fun.
He started by asking what office the scammer was with. Then were that office was located. Followed by where in that office was his workstation. Then began asking questions about the taxes owed, how much, how to pay, etc.
It was when he said "Well, I'm at IRS Headquarters in Washington, DC, why don't you come by my office...." that he was hung up on.
The really funny part is he was not the only person in his immediate organization who received one of these calls. When they realized people in that office were getting these calls, it started a game of one-upmanship that lasted about a week.
They thought it terribly funny.

Google the Glitter Bomb guy and search him out on YouTube. He is very entertaining. He originally made the glitter bomb to ruin the days of package thieves, but he is now sending to glitter bombs to scammers instead of payments. Even better, they alert the police, and they then arrest the local scammers. He is also working with another anti-scam activist to figure out how to deliver his brand of retribution to overseas originators of many of these scams.

This guy is great.
Do you remember Para’s thread from years ago about a scammer being scammed? “Not goot, not goot”. Man, that made my day back then.

I've been getting calls from people speaking Chinese. I figure they're trying to activate their moles but are calling the wrong number.
