Old, Online, And Fed On Lies: How An Aging Population Will Reshape The Internet
The article is too long to paste and copy. You can skim read the first part which is about teaching older people how to use an Ipad and the internet. The basic tenet which I found interesting is that older people are more likely to share fake news than younger people as well as other habits which I found interesting. If I recall correctly the demographic of this Forum is of people largely 40 and older. I really like the fact that FAKE NEWS stays off this site and if it shows up is quickly debunked. Here is the link to the article:

Mostly true.

However, folks are less likely to questions "fake news" when it jives with their beliefs. The forum is overwhelmingly (nigh exclusively) conservative. And most fake news lately is pro-left and therefore quickly ignored/debunked.

But 5ish years ago, how often were we presented with members spreading fake news in the form of posts breathlessly espousing that "Obama is implementing Sharia law and is using FEMA to close down the lead smelters to cut off the ammo supply!!!" Wink

"Jibes," not "jives." "Jive" is something completely different.

It's called "confirmation bias" and it's everywhere.
