2PAKHoneyBaked Ham
Been a few years but just had to pull the trigger on 'HoneyBaked' Ham for Christmas vs. getting it at Costco or elsewhere. They aren't cheap and this one was $97.50 (bone in, half ham).
I'll be sending folks home with ham and freezing some for later but the itch will be scratched..

Johnny 3eaglesYup, we had ours for Thanksgiving with plenty of leftovers for sandwiches, plus the bone and some ham frozen for Bean Soup after New Years.

daikyuWe just got ours for Christmas Eve. 9.88 lbs, $94.75. We have not gotten one for several years but they used to be a lot cheaper.

corsairI've never heard of anybody nor, had any experience with a bad Honeybaked Ham.
You pay a bit more for it over supermarket or, warehouse store variety but, Honeybaked has a very reliable track record.
Save the bone for soup, scraps and such for throwing into an omelet or, salad.

LS1 GTOWe did the Costco one (Kirkland brand) for Thanksgiving. After heating and mixing up the glaze - blow torch the glaze as you pour it on.

Don't heat the ham in the oven, serve it cold.

cheesegritsAnyone remember Heavenly Ham? I always thought they had the best hams. Honeybaked bought them out years ago.
I do like Honeybaked. Just picked ours up. I love making bean soup with the bone and leftover scraps.

blueyeBack in the late 60's, mid December, my sister stops by the house and says we are going to the west side of Detroit to pick up a ham.
After about an hour ride, we pull up to a corner store with about 40 people standing in line waiting there turn to go inside and coming out which looked like a football wrapped in foil.
We took turns waiting in line in what seemed like 20 degree cold and after about 40 minutes we got the ham. I thought it was crazy waiting in line for food. Christmas dinner that year was very memorable as the ham was out of this world.
I asked my sister what she paid for it and she thinks it was less than 20.00, alot for that time. Someone told me that the store we went to was were Honeybaked originated.

Originated in the 1930's and was sold in Drug stores . First actual storefront was in Detroit . Michigan .

daikyuHeavenly Ham was our gateway and they morphed into Honey baked after the buyout. Then the local store closed some years ago so we went without for a while.

OaklaneI just picked ours up this past Saturday, I usually do a small prime rib and the HBH for our Christmas Eve get together, always have plenty of leftovers, and always make bean or split pea with the bone. They are definately pricey but it’s a once year thing.
