He's an actor. I can't say I really care. The way news outlets are pounding this, you would think that it's something really important for society. Here's the real news flash about it: It's not.
I agree. I never watched Friends and did not know who he was or that he had a drug problem and nearly died from a ruptured colon. I just do not grieve actors. Close friends yes.

Matthew Perry who’s most recent claim to fame was publicly promoting the slow kill bioweapons while proudly sporting on social media his “COULD I BE ANY MORE VACCINATED?” t-shirt...
"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

I just read last night that recovering substance abusers are NOT supposed to be using a hot tub or pool unsupervised for this very reason. Apparently he had an assistant but they were out on an errand or something.
Sad, the guy went from dating Julia Roberts and making a million dollars an episode of Friends to passing out and drowning in a danged hot tub.

“I've had a lot of ups and downs in my life. I'm still working through it personally, but the best thing about me is that if an alcoholic or drug addict comes up to me and says, 'Will you help me?' I will always say, 'Yes, I know how to do that. I will do that for you, even if I can't always do it for myself! So I do that, whenever I can. In groups, or one on one.
And I created the Perry House in Malibu, a sober-living facility for men. I also wrote my play The End of Longing, which is a personal message to the world, an exaggerated form of me as a drunk. I had something important to say to people like me, and to people who love people like me.
When I die, I know people will talk about Friends, Friends, Friends. And I'm glad of that, happy l've done some solid work as an actor, as well as given people multiple chances to make fun of my struggles on the world wide web...but when I die, as far as my so-called accomplishments go, it would be nice if Friends were listed far behind the things I did to try to help other people.
I know it won't happen, but it would be nice."

I read something the other night that said he was lonely and really wanted to settle down and have a family and be a regular guy with kids but all the women he tried to date all knew he was rich and famous and nothing worked out for him.
