Are you sure it is coffee specific? I’m in my mid seventies and now the sound of running water triggers the urge to go with or without being tanked up on coffee.

Coffee is like beer. I say you don't buy a cup, you rent it!

You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless.

I suspect it has something to do with the caffeine stimulating the bladder/bowel nerves.

Of course, this is purely Internet wisdom, without any evidentiary support.

Well, i must say i work more like a water filter.
Am well aware of the diuretic properties but of all the liquids i drink, and i try to keep me well hydrated, coffee works like a charm. I could probably time it.

Many people have this. If I have a larger coffee, it is a very effective gut grenade.

Maybe it's borderline IBS, who knows?

Not really. But anyway, the point is that drinking coffee will not cause dehydration, or drinking any caffeinated beverage for that matter.

This ^^^^^

Caffeine in most people stimulates the cardiovascular system, which leads to increased blood flow, which leads to increased load on the renal system, which leads to more urine production.

No shit! Cool
And i'm sooooo allergic to cats... had to take care of my sister's to find out.
Still having issues entering the premises. The cats are long gone. I start chocking approaching the door.

I'm basically a social coffee drinker. Breakfast and 5pm every day. That's it.

That is why I don't drink coffee in school. I can't run out of the classroom and leave the students alone.
