The heat of Cholula hot sauces. I estimated a numerical value (scale of 0 to 1) for Cholula’s graphical presentation. I think I could drink a glass of the Chili Lime straight – probably tasty!

Original – 0.45

Chipotle – 0.4

Green Pepper – 0.5

Chili Lime – 0.15

In the same vein of Cholula, I've been enjoying Gringo Bandito lately. The green is really good, I like it better than Cholula. Lots of flavor, not too hot. The other day, we got the four pack sampler with the green, yellow , original red and super hot. We haven't opened the latter two yet, but the yellow with scotch bonnet and habanero is actually really good and not stupidly hot. This brand is quickly becoming my go-to.

Also available on Amazon and sometimes I find a few varieties at Safeway. Sidenote: It's Dexter Holland's personal brand. You might know him from The Offspring. The guy makes a pretty decent hot sauce, as it turns out.

Good call on this Rogue. I had never had it before. I picked up a bottle at Walmart(yes, I was carrying my P220)today. This may turn out to be a favorite.

I use the red Cholula on dirty rice and a few other things. Red Tabasco for real homemade gumbo......can not be beat. I take a bottle of Heinz Catsup and add horseradish, and Tabasco.....mix it, and that is great on many things!!

I may just have to give the green Cholula a try next time I am in the grocery store.

I find all types of Cholula hot sauces to be too mild for my taste. So I just stick to Dave's Gourmet Insanity Sauce, especially the version made with Ghost Peppers. I am crazy, I guess, cuz, that is what my friends say about me. What they forget is that I grew up in Assam, in NorthEast India, where Ghost Peppers are part of the normal Assamese diet.

I just picked up 5 different flavors of Cholula. I'm a pretty staunch Tobasco guy but I'm willing to give a new flavor a try.

Edit - ooh, the green pepper sauce is awesome!

A friend of mine dared me to try it a few years ago and I did. For a second there I thought I'd committed suicide. Eek

I'm a fan of Cholula. Primarily because I can't take the heat anymore. There was a time in my youth I danced w/ the devil. Those days are gone. I've no wish to drop lit matches from arse when I go.
My borderline right now is Assam Hot Sauce
I'm more about flavor. I saw it featured on Hot Ones and had to give it a try.

I pretty much buy Louisiana Hot Sauce most of the time. Not much on Tabasco too much vinegar. I pass by the Louisiana Hot Sauce Co. pretty regular but it's always at night when they're closed.

We like this Tabasco below it's a little sweet and spicy. I take in the restaurant with me to put on my fried Crawfish.

This is what happened to me. I had to sit down for a few minutes and wash it down with some Bookers Small Batch 100 proof.

Kind of a private joke. Mike is a friend. If you have ever met him, you know that he is anything but a sissy, so I felt that I just had to pull his chain when I saw an opening. Smile

I haven't had the Clark and Hopkins Assam, but the Clark and Hopkins Ethiopia is very good and pretty different from anything else I've had. To me, it tastes a lot like spicy Worcestershire sauce. Obviously, it's delicious on meat.

I think people have negative reactions to hot sauces made with ghost peppers. But, I grew up in NorthEastern India, where it is just another chili that sort of grows will all over the place. So, I grew up eating food that was flavored with ghost peppers. That's why I can tolerate it much better that usual American folks who grew up without being exposed to such hot peppers.
