If you are a beer drinker, pork eater, or just want to see landmark sites…I HIGHLY recommend going to Hofbrauhaus!!

Marianplatz, eat some Weiber Spargel soup (White Asparagus, even if you don't like asparagus you'll probably find you like this soup, then off to the haufbrau haus for a Dunkel or Hell beer,

We were too beat to venture out of the hotel once we got checked in.
Crashed about 8pm & woke at 6am. Waiting on the airport shuttle to catch our new flight.

We did, now my wife is panicking a little, since we never went through immigration/passport control.

We're finding 50/50 on if we're ok, or if we need to report to a local police station to file a record of entry.

Did your passports get checked and stamped when you arrived in Munich? If the rules haven’t changed, as long as you were stamped arriving in the EU you don’t have to do it again until you leave the EU.

Really hope you enjoy Rome. Sounds like while it was a stressful trip over, you have now hopefully adjusted to the time change. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, we were there two years ago now and are ready to go back and explore some more. Don't forget to find the John Wick bookstore! Yeah, I had to track that down one day. LOL

You must have cleared immigration at Munich Airport and since you are going to a Schengen Area country (Italy), part of the E.U. "borderless zone", no need in Rome.

I've flown into Munich many times, will be there again tomorrow. You did not arrive in Munich and not go through customs. Just does not happen. They can be very fast and uneventful and usually leave you alone once you've had your passport inspected. You collect luggage after that and, if you walk out the green lane from there and they don't suspect anything, you're through. If you walk into the red lane, they ask what you have to declare.

FWIW, I strongly disagree about going to the Hofbräuhaus. That's for tourists and the only Germans there are the staff. For the real one, go to the Augustinerbräukeller not too far away. They're not real friendly and may pretend to not speak English, but it's the real thing. No better German food or beer anywhere. In nice weather they will have outdoor tables set up.

You already went through passport control upon landing in Munich, highly unlikely you could even bypass that check. Get yourself into your accommodations and walk around the neighborhood, breath the air and take it in. You're on vacation, enjoy your time away and soak-in the new surroundings.

Up early & headed to the Vatican this morning. Had to rebook our Coleseum tour as were stuck in Munch when it was scheduled.

Yesterday was a wandering day after we all overslept until almost 11am. Piazza de Popolo & Borghese Gardens areas.

Agreed! You’re fine and legal. Enjoy the trip.
