Well I work in San Francisco and I have openly discussed my dogs with my coworkers. We have a redbone and a blue tick coonhound. I have even discussed the phenomenon of the cooney ball they curl up into with each other. I better fire myself. Maybe I should put some photos up of my girls.
Any of our west coast friends need a referral for a redbone or blue tick breeder let me know. Both breeders we got our dogs from are great and dogs are very high quality. The brother of our redbone has been in some very important shows and won best in breed at some regional CA show and made it to Westminster kennel club show. The breeder told my wife she thinks our dog is a better breed standard redbone than the male that she kept that has won. Too bad she’s been spayed so she can’t breed or show.

^^^^^ "Coon" as a derogatory reference to a Black person was fairly common in the rural South back about 40-70 years ago. I suspect it has fallen into disfavor in more recent times.

Preach it, Brother!

That'd be barking up the wrong tree.

How about educating the little fragile snowflake buttercups?
The coonhound, colloquially coon dog, is a type of scent hound, a member of the hound group. They are an American type of hunting dog developed for the game animals and working conditions found in the United States, specifically raccoon hunting. There are six distinct breeds of coonhound.
Just show up after lunch and announce, "COONHOUND IS A BREED OF DOG, YOU PHUKKING MORONS!!!" See if that gets a reaction outta anyone in UR (that's Useless Resources in lieu of Human Resources).

Actually, those of us who are of Cajun descent find the word somewhat distasteful. We prefer "Cajun" unless the conversation is in jest between two Cajuns.
