I thought this was kind of funny. Just how easy a short boxy wheel base rig rolled. I am sure it is step, but surprised how easily it just tipped over. Razz

a brick is much harder to roll over than one of your kids little wooden building blocks with an alphabet letter on it. Wink

The Steps are the Nemesis of many Toyota SUV's. Problem is a shitty line compounded with too much braking at the wrong spot. Almost always ends with a nap Roll Eyes You'll notice in the video I posted, the proper line was taken and everything worked out.

Ah, the quest to balance braking for control without going over the top. I've been there before, probably should have hooked up some line to help keep the back end down.

The stuff in the roof rack probably didn't help either. That's fine until you get right on the edge like this and the CG shift puts you over the top.

"The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people."
"Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy."
"I did," said Ford, "it is."
"So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?"
"It honestly doesn't occur to them. They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates the government they want."
"You mean they actually vote for the lizards."
"Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course."
"But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?"
"Because if they didn't vote for a lizard, then the wrong lizard might get in."

A lot of those rigs have added an Inclinometer Gauge so they can see where they’re about to really screw up.

That is a much more difficult rock than you would think from the video. What's really scary is directly to the left of there is a 25+ foot drop into a river. Many vehicles have ended up down there. I don't want to do the steps without a sway bar disconnect these days.

Black Bear pass is a beautiful trail. We’ve done it both directions many times. It’s not that technical, but it requires 100% of your attention!

You need to hug to the right in that area. I've been down that road probably 30 times, twice in my FJ !
Ran it bunches back when I lived out there.

It never does.
Usually disappointed when I get home from my trips and put the pics on the big screen.
The actual terrain was far more complicated than my pics or videos showed.

Absolutely. The videos I have on YouTube make it looks easy and people wonder why I’m going so slow.

The FJ isn’t some building block with alphabet letters. They were pretty badass offroad vehicles. Yes, I’m speaking of the latest generation that was discontinued in 2014. Extremely capable.

Now the asshat driving, turn into the roll. You’ll wreck it less than rolling it.

My wife bought a new 2020 Jeep Wrangler 3 months ago. She's started off-roading two weeks ago. While not as bad as the videos, the ride (as a passenger) is definitely butt clenching! We're in NH!

I started to make a joke about that, but thought better of it. Unless they got ejected early on, I'm sure someone died there. No place for jokes.

Whoa, that rig that captured that video was incredibly lucky/fortunate.
Wonder what the story was on the rig tumbling down the mountain was? That was not good.

The news story I read said they were both injured but lived.
