Amateurs. Way too much space. We had ceilings to deal with. Before a game, you had to agree if the ceiling was a redo or if you just played it. BTW you always play it off the ceiling unless you are one of those.

Then we often had walls. There's no way you're backing up that far. If you had more than three feet behind you, you were on the good side.

My brother always had the padded rubber paddle, while I got the paddle with 800 grit sandpaper on it. I always lost.

Ping pong sucked for me.

I had a coworker in Germany who was on a team/league, went one time and watched. Made me realize how bad I really was at Ping Pong.

I know I'll get some hate for this, b/c so many Americans think of table tennis as a parlor game like darts, quarters, and cornhole, but serious table tennis IMO is more of a sport than any of the Olympic shooting events besides winter biathlon.

I’m the opposite, I think it is the most useless sport (well, curling is up there and Olympic break dancing).

Thanks, I love ping pong.
I was actually pretty good at it but I haven't played in years.
In HS I used to skip school (just when study hall was at the end of the day, I wasn't stupid) to go down to the YMCA (sans Trump Dance) and play every day.
Maybe might start up again. Cool

My favorite player, Timo Boll. Skip to #1 at 4:28, if you don't want to watch all ten. Insane!
