Working for a marine parts wholesaler, we sell Startron gas/diesel and Stabil products. Startron sales far exceed Stabil sales.

Startron was developed by Yamaha Marine for the ethanol fuels.

Stabil with Marine (Ethanol Free) Gas.

21 year old Lawnmower, 3 chain saws, 6 generators, Stihl Combi tool, 200hp Mercury, all use the above combination with ZERO issues, ever.

I went to the local marina got a bottle of what they sell, Mercury if I remember correctly. I figure boats get a lot of abuse storage time and damp environment too.

I used to love those little ~0.5 ounce bottles of startron for the motorcycle; I could keep one in my jacket and use for fill-ups when E0 was not available.... Expensive though, I tried to refill them from larger bottle of Startron or Stabill but the little bottle caps seem to self destruct after a few uses... too bad, it was a great system

Just because something is legal to do doesn't mean it is the smart thing to do.

If possible always run your unit out of gas so that the carb is also empty,
Back when I was riding Harlys the one time I used Stabil it looked like cottage cheese the next spring.
If I use anything now it is Seafoam.

Integrity is doing the right thing, even when nobody is looking.
