I've been using a Bitdefender BOX 2 for a few years now. I pay $100 a year for software updates and it can secure dozens of devices both on our network, and also off via installed security software. I guess it works ok, but then again, I really don't know. The device is rather obscuring in what is occurring. There are no real time logs, very little information on what's occurring on my network. I'm wondering if there is something better out there. The internet reviews I've found are basically paid ads, and are so crappy, it's really hard to tell. Anybody know of a great home WiFi router/security appliance that is the go to device now? THANKS!

What exactly are you trying to do? That sounds a bit like a firewall. My ISP hijacks our DNS and injects their own javascript to all web traffic. Encrypted DNS is on my list, but there are so many services selling my info it's not a high priority.

Yeah, it's a firewall and WiFi router all in one. Wondering if there's a better one out there.

I can't speak specifically to that device, but I have BitDefender anti-virus on the spousal unit laptop. It tells you nothing until it finds something. I basically set it up as sort of a fire and forget anti-virus. It seems to get the job done. For a while I had a software package called Glasswire that monitored network usage. That might be of value to you.
