She was my favorite back in the day. Won the Grammy four years in a row. I have all of her albums and saw her in concert 5 times over the years. She's one of a kind.

I was in shipyard in Jacksonville FL back in the early 90's and she gave a free concert at the Jaguars stadium. She was great! The only problem was we all got soaked by a rain storm.

I'll admit I loved The Pretenders when they came out in early 1980 and just merely liked Benatar, but she sure had a voice made for rock, while Chrissie Hynde had a sweeter saccharine voice over a punkish rock sound (Karen Carpenter was a primary influence). But Benatar had a good number of hits in the 80s, she did take advantage of MTV at the time.

I was lucky enough to see her perform in a tiny venue, a county park, some time in the nineties. Not only was it free, but we were about three rows deep from the stage, with maybe three rows behind us. Wifey was a huge fan, me not so much until that concert, she really rocked it!

I also much prefered The Pretenders back in the 80's but saw Pat and her husband Neil in a small venue about 10 years ago. It was a great show, nice to see a long lasting marriage in show biz.

One of my favorite CDs from her was True Love, in a blues style from the 1940's. If you like swing/blues and haven't heard it, I'd recommend.
