Was making cole slaw. Wanted to add some dried fruit. No raisins but had prunes. Feeling lazy so instead of dicing with a knife, used a shredding blade in the food processor. What a mess. The shredder clogged almost immediately. Lesson learned.

For your next trick stuff the shells from crab legs into your garbage disposal (sinkerator). That is WAY more fun.

Prunes don't belong in anything, and raisins certainly don't belong in cole slaw.

I was making a smoothie and I used a fork to scrape the inside of the blender jar. I stepped away for a minute. I forgot the fork was there and I put the lid back on then started the machine. Never seen so much shattered glass. It took 2 days to clean it up.

The food disposal is a great place for all your raw potato peelings. It lets you know what you will be doing for the rest of the day.

Years ago my wife and I used to brew beer. When we were done using the grains we would throw them away.

At one point we thought there must be something we could use the spent grain for. My wife looked on the internet and saw people were baking with them.

On the next batch instead of throwing them out we decided to save them. We lined cookie sheets with parchment paper and put them in the oven on low thinking we could dry them out and be able to grind them in a food processor to make flour. Big mistake.

Because beer grain has starch in them that is extracted to make Wort you never get all of the starch and moisture out.
By the time we were done we had a big sticky glob of mashed up grain in the food processor. So we decide to never try that again.

Several years ago, my wife decided to clean out the pantry shelves while the Thanksgiving turkey was in the oven. She dumped the remains of a bottle of Metamucil down the sink, flushed it with water, and turned the disposer on. Why not just put the partially used bottle in the trash? Well, there was a triangle shaped re-cycle symbol on the container, and my wife . . .

When the water hit it, that stuff immediately swelled to at least fifty thousand times its original volume, solidly pluggimg the drain line.

I spent the rest of Thanksgiving day under the sink, dealing with it. Amazing, a hardware store in the area was open on Thanksgiving, so I was able to get a new P-trap, a snake, and some other needful things to get the job done.
