Electric MotoGP!!??
I certainly wish them more success than Formula E. I don’t know how to feel about it. I have had a Chevy Volt and if I had the funds, a Tesla would be parked next to my gixxers, so I do appreciate the technology and that instant torque.

BUT, there is something about that sound of an engine flirting with 20k rpms!!

I am taking the family for their first MotoGP race in Austin so it should be fun.

How do you classify the engine motor or battery size?
I mean, like our current system of cubic centimeters.

It looks like they all will be racing the same bike. Which is kind of cool since it takes technology (money) out of equation so it’s just the skill that will rule the track.

Sounds like a lot of tire management? I imagine the pure acceleration of electric motors could be hell on tires. And depending on weight. But, I'm no expert.

What kind of range on the bikes? Are they running multiple vehicles per race like in Formula E? I don't know why, but that removes a lot of interest in the race for me. Not to mention the poor range of electric vehicles generally. Quick recharging (seconds) would make a huge difference.

Looks interesting.

completely spec bike and tires, and at this level tires won't matter a bit. no recharge. Just a show for the euro enviro people at this point. From the perspective of racing bikes a bit like any spec class.

Who's building the bikes? Is Zero Motorcycles in on this?

God bless America.

From what I was reading they are making the power of a late 90’s superbike.

Gonna be a while yet before it can hang with one of these and even then it won’t make that glorious howl so it won’t be the same.
