cne32507Lindsey Graham again. What a tool
ReutersSeems the South Carolina Senator is on retainer for the California Bar. The House and Senate budget bills closed the contingency lawsuit up front cost tax deduction that the uber-liberal 9th circuit court of appeals had for their western lawyers. Graham slipped it back in at the 9th hour. I wonder why he is so concerned about Western tort lawyers taxes?

41 The issue, believe it or not, is a $500 million controversy, at least according to Congress’s Joint Committee on Taxation. WOW...who would have known. Some of these people need to go.

Rey HRHI've got no love for lawyers but I don't see the deductibility as wrong. Upfront costs are costs, it's not like it's capital investment.
I didn't know about this deductibility but it makes sense to me. Businesses are allowed to deduct expenses against their profits.
